2009 Trip Planning

Hey all! I'm planning a January 2009 trip and was wondering if Disney would give me a Room Only reservation until the 2008 rates are released. I ask because I want to take advantage of the strengthening Canadian dollar and booking now will save me a significant amount of $$$ on the exchange difference. I know the cut off for booking on line is Dec 31, 08 but if I call will they allow a Room Only for future years? Has anyone else done this?

You may book a Room-Only Reservation by phone (407-W-DISNEY) up to 499 days in advance of your travel dates. For example, if you call today October 26, 2007 you may book a stay for any dates up to March 8th, 2009 based on availability.

For any travel dates on or beyond January 1st, 2009 you will be quoted a non-guaranteed rate based on current 2008 rates and seasons. A deposit of the first night's lodging will be required within 14 days of booking, but you are welcome to pay any amount up to the full cost of the reservation.

When the 2009 room rates are finalized (sometime in July/August 2008) you will receive a revised confirmation showing your new nightly rate and total reservation amount. You will have the option to cancel the reservation anytime up to 5 days prior to arrival without penalty.

You will also be able to modify to a Vacation Package once the 2009 Packages are released (sometime in August/September.) Holding a Room-Only Reservation will guarantee your room availability when converting to a package.

2009 planning

I was just on Disney.com last night and if you register with disney online and then go to travel and log in and do a room or package for a phantom date you will actually be invited and a caht window will pop up and you can talk to a disney cast member abd they can help you alot
