2004 Park Hopper Tickets

Hi, I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked. I have four credit card type Park Hopper tickets from 2004. They have a magnetic strip on the back but no signatures. I went with my daughter and my parents at that time. I would like to use the remaining days for my husband and other daughter. My parents are no longer able to use them. My question is this- although they are considered non-transferable, is there any way to know who orginally used the cards? Thank you for your help!

If they have serial numbers you could try adding them via MDE but I seriously doubt MDE has a database that goes back that far. I think your only other resource is to call WDW and/or go to a Guest Relations. I've read multiple entries on this forum that old tickets with remaining days are usually honored.

Thank you! I know they will be honored but I am unsure if someone other than the original user will be able to use them. For example, can my husband use my father's card? There are no names assigned to any og the cards from what I can tell. What is MDE?

Oops. Sorry. I forgot there are newbies here. I was once one myself. ;)

"MDE" is MyDisneyExperience and is WDW's new website for planning your vacation: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/.

This is where someone would create an account for themselves, and add their Disney tickets/passes, and resort reservations.

You can try adding an account for yourself. After you do, click the link "link existing reservations and tickets." Click "Add" under "Tickets". In the ID box, input the serial number, if your ticket(s) has one. Click "Next" and follow the steps. See what happens.

Again, your tickets are 10 years old but you never know what may come up.

You could first try what JohnD said (though you may have to look for the link that says "ticket purchased before 2012" or something like that) to assign them to people and thus their MagicBands.

If that fails, you'll be able to use them just fine. In 2004 the "ticket tag" (biometric ID/finger scanning) system was only being used for Annual/Seasonal tickets. So there's nothing in the database linking the ticket to a specific person.
*But* you'll still have to stop by Guest Relations before using them so that they can be converted to an RFID card that can be used with the new entry points. And once you use the new cards, they are then linked to that person's finger biometrics and can't be traded around.

And if you have profiles on My Disney Experience, you can then link those RFID cards to your profiles, and thus to Magic Bands if you're staying at a Disney resort.

I don't remember when they switched to Magic Your Way, but it was around then. I *think* they were just called Park Hoppers or Park Hopper Plus tickets then. Nickers sold before this "Magic Your Way" did not expire. You didn't have to pay extra for them to not expire. Charging for non-expiration began with "Magic Your Way."

If the tickets are pre-Magic Your Way, No, Disney can't tell and you can (against policy) just let anyone use it. But they'll attach it to that person and all the remaining days will have to be used by that person.

I still have Plusses left on pre-Magic Your Way tickets I let people use, even since the new tapstiles were installed. No problem. They just check the ticket to make sure it is good and then give us another ticket. :)

No idea how this works with the wristbands and computer stuff, but I'm sure they can do it.
