20 DAY DILEMMA - THOUGHTS?

We are leaving for WDW in 20 days and I have a dilemma on my hands. We are booked at Coronado Springs. I have all my dinner and fast pass + reservations made. So here is my issue....my brother is going to be in WDW the same time as we are and he is in the military. He offered to get us a room at Shades of Green. The rooms are really nice and cheaper than Coronado Springs...oh and breakfast is included. So my dilemma is do I stay "off-site" and save a ton of money or do we stay on-site and have the magic all day and night? Also, would I lose my existing fast pass + reservations for canceling a Disney resort even thought we are past the 30 day mark.... what to do, what to do. Advice?

Dining reservations you'll be fine if you cancel your current booking.

FP+ *should* be OK as long as you bought your tickets separately. If your tickets are part of a package reservation, the FP+ selections will disappear soon after you cancel the reservation and the tickets are removed from your profile.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Shades of Green is considered A Disney Resort when it comes to Extra Magic Hours, and they do provide free transportation as well to all Disney Parks. So you would not lose the EMH or transportation. Also like above if you purchased tickets seperately and not part of a room package then you would be okay for Fast Pass. Dining ressies you will not lose at all either way. :)

SOG is a Disney Resort and it is very nice. The rooms are quite spacious compared to most other Disney properties. It is true that it does not have the "Disney" feel but you will enjoy the resort. Also, it is a short walk (by Disney standards) to the Polynesian Resort where you can take the monorail to The MK, other monorail resorts or the TTC and on to Epcot. Just follow the driveway/walkway down to the road and cross over to the Poly. Also, there is a golf cart that runs up and down the walkway and you can catch a ride....nice at the end of a long day in the park if you decide to walk from the Poly. The busses run on a regular schedule to the MK, Epcot, DTD, DHS and the AK. Have a Magical Trip no mat:cat:ter what you decide.
