Vote on whether or not you think it would be cool to have Disney redo this ride in the park! Imagine how much more advanced it could be now!

i'm not a huge fan of the movie, but i think an atlantis themed ride would work so well here. either that or little mermaid since ariel's grotto is right beside it.

I think that a revamp of something like the Tokyo Disney Seas 20,000 Leagues would be awesome. The problem with the previous one was that the load/unload time was far too long and the lines were not moving near fast enough, imagine a ride that's something like IOA's Spiderman only as 20,000 leagues.......Im drooling at the possibility....

Frankly, I don't think a new attraction will do that well with guests. However, I am sure if Disney uses technology of today, they might be able to pull off a very nice version...most realistic. I would prefer giving the ride an Ariel theme, then closing down the Grotto to make room for a better "attraction"... :veryconfu

We did this on another thread. But definitely something has to be done there. Other ideas were expanding the Ariel's grotto theme to include all that water for a ride (submarine?). Redo 20,000 Leagues or do something about Atlantis.

But for Pete's sake -- get rid of the character thing:brick:

There were acutally several proposed redos of this attraction including making the 20,000 Leagues more realistic with an acutal giant squid that turns the sub on its side and also and Atlantis redo.
Currently, they have no plans but to use it for a meet and greet and part of Ariel's Grotto. It is another waste of space, just like the Galaxy Palace Theater in Tomorrowland and the Swiss Chalet entrance of the former Skyway in Fantasyland.

Here is the biggest problem they are facing: Most companies would not know what to do with an 11 million gallon tank. Disney has to deal with an 11 million gallon tank on the second floor of a building! :hammer:
