Both my husband and I LOVE rides! I have been to WDW 3 times (once for our honeymoon). This will be our first trip with our daughter who is now 4 months old. We are planning on going in May 2009 (she'll be 10 months), and staying on property in one of the All Star Resorts, though I'm liking Pop Century. My DH has stayed in the Music resort many, many years ago.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what resort would be best?

Being our first trip as a family I'm scared as to the amount of 'stuff' we will need. Just a few hours away from home and we already have a full car! (We will be flying down.) What are some 'Must haves' for traveling with a 10 month old? I've read some posts about people suggesting to bring your own stroller as the ones on property are expensive. A friend of ours did this and had their stroller taken.

Since it's always been my husband and I before traveling to WDW with an infant is new territory. We both love all thrill rides, which won't be easy to do (I know about baby swaps). What kinds of rides / attractions do you suggest for a 10 month old?

Thanks for your suggestions
~ Michelle

There are a lot of threads on the must haves part of your question that you may find helpful. I will post those below.

Must haves:

-your own stroller or one rented from off-property really is a must have. It is not about the expense it is the strollers are not designed for a baby. They are truely designed for a preschooler. We have taken our strollers on at least 7 trips and have never had a problem.
-a sling or a Bjorn
-hat and sunscreen for baby
-sippy cup or bottle or both
-something to clean sippy or bottle out with each day. they make cloths with the dish detergent right in them which travel well.
-baby food
-disposable forks and spoons-
-plenty of diapers and wipes
-rain cover for stroller!!!! definate must!
-oulet covers for the outlets in the hotel room

Am not much help on which hotel, but make sure you request a pack n play when you make the reservation. You may also want to rent the fridge to hold formula/breastmilk and baby food.

I also think there is a post on here about which rides to take an infant on. I will search and if I can find it I will post that as well.

This is about rental places that I found on another thread. I know nothing about them

Try these sites, I wish I'd known about them when we went down!

I have taken a brand new Graco stroller twice and never had it stolen. In all, we have made 5 trips and never had the stroller touched.

My suggestion for hotels is either Pop Century or All Star Sports. Pop is just awesome, and if you chose All Star, go with Sports as it is first on the bus pick up so you can get a seat!

We did our DD first trip at 10 mos and it was great. Take lots of pictures and videos for the baby to remember the trip!

well as the husband that has packed the car 11 times in the past 4 years for disney world I can tell you what you need.

PUFFS (snack)
you need your stroller. Trust me 10 month old can not fit in the disney one. People that say they can are out of there mind.
plan for rain and buy a poncho and leave it with the stroller. Know where the baby station is. ( to the left of the crystal palace. also has a private bathroom for the parents.)
Bring Little swimmers diapers. You have two kid water areas for infants and toddlers. great way for them to have fun and for you to take a break.
you can hold the baby on most of the rides. only 3 you cant.
Just act like your going out for the day with the baby and you will be fine.

Ok hotel. if your going onsite the big resorts are not good for kids unde 5 because they dont excite the kids. Stay at the POP CENTURY. has a kids pool and a kiddie water squirt area. not water buns but the one with the rubber floor and little water squirters

BEST PART HOTEL HAS PAC N PLAY OR CRIB. AND ALL HE HOTELS ARE A LONG WALK TO GET TO SO NO NEED TO UPGRADE TO A PERFERED ROOM.

I advise you to purchase single packs of formula. You can purchase them from amazon.com. We did this and it worked out great. Just carry a bottle with disposable liners and you are set.

Our son was 8 months old when we went last january and he has a ball. He was a little scared of the characters at first, but at the end of the trip he was comfortable with them.

There's a similar thread out right now titled Diapers. Here are the suggestions I gave them.

Hey there
I've traveled 3 times now with babies/toddlers.
1) I found that taking a thermos with us was very helpful for having warm water on hand for formula bottles. There's only one baby center per park, and we never wanted to hike to the entrance where they're located to get hot water there.
2) I also recommend gardengrocier.com. We have them deliver diapers, wipes, snacks, and water to our room ($50 min order). I also love bibsters for babies eating baby/table food. I take a box of those with us and then also take table toppers with us. Not that the restaurants aren't clean, but it's nice to have a clean area for my toddler to eat table food from.
3) I've also taken nightlights for night time feedings.
4) Oh and pack and play sheets are nice to take with you.
5) And we take a bottle brush and $8 bottle drying rack with us, plus a small shampoo sized container of dish soap.
6) I take a popup child's hamper with us to put dirty clothes in. ($8 Dora the Explorer from my daughter's room)
7) We always have connecting rooms with family. This may expose my OCD, but I pack my kids outfits up into ziplock bags. That way I can send a child over to my parent's room with a bag and they can help get us dressed and out the door faster.

I've got other ideas, but don't want to bore you

ziplock bags with outfits in them is a great tip, you can just throw a bagged outfit in the diaper bag for extra clothes!! we did this and it worked great!

We're thrill seekers too. We took DS at almost 1 year and he went on almost everything. The best thing I took was a baby sling to wear (made a cute one out of retro mickey fabric). I could carry him without breaking my back and he slept through rides/lines.
Have fun!
