Hello all...I don't post much in here, but I do have some news.

We just returned from MGM, and on the backlot tour, the guide told us that they are going to be filming 2 more pirate movies. They will begin filming next year...expect to see Pirates 2 early 2006 and Pirates 3 Christmas 2006. They will be filmed back to back, so I wouldn't be too surprised if we see previews for 3 when 2 is released. All 3 major players are signed on for all 3 movies.

Thanks for sharing the info!

I am a bit skeptical of a trilogy (The Matrix comes to mind) but then again, LotR fans weren't disappointed. We'll have to see in which category the PotC trilogy falls under.

Hmmm.... So it has a chance of being a really good trilogy like Star Wars (even though none of the movies were filmed at the same time), and Lord of The Rings, or it could end up bad like the Matrix sequels.

That was actually announced awhile ago, but I guess not everyone has heard about it :) On the same subject, Keith Richards has been signed to play Capt. Jack's father in at least one of the sequels. Looking forward to it :D

Ooh, I cannot wait.
Johnny as Sparrow....*drool*
But it's kind os sucky that it doesn't come out until 2006...I was hoping for a 2005 release.
The anticipation in me shall build....

Same here. I've never really been a fan of doing another movie. But hey, like you said LotR wasn't disappointing at all. So, I guess we'll just have to wait.

And longfamily, I agree 100% with you there!

Yeah, but the Lord of the Rings trilogy was based upon an established story. Matrix 2 and 3 was done simply to capitolize on the popularity of the first one.

I have faith in Jerry Bruckheimer. There isn't much that he does that can be considered terrible.
