Hey ya'll, I'm finally typing up my trip report and some updates that I noticed while on an AWESOME Walt Disney World vacation from July 3 - 16. As of right now, I'm still waiting on getting my pictures uploaded (I have ALOT, lol) but I wil let you all know when I do! And by the way, most of the time when I refer to "we" and I mention we're at a park, it is usually me, and my sister Sam (MadameCheshire on the boards), but when I mention where we eat and a few days at the parks, it's my sister, dad, and the me. And read the WHOLE thing!!! So anyways, we stayed off-site when we arrived late on the 3rd and just went to DTD quick for dinner.... now for July 4th..
We decided to go to Animal Kingdom. So we got there, and to our amazement, it seemed like NO ONE was there. We went to Kilo first and had about a 20 minutes (at the most) wait, and which surprisngly, was the longest wait of the entire day at Animal Kingdom! I also saw Erik (Irrawady Erik) later on on this attraction, and he is a very kewl person! Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, and Kali were all 5 minute or less waits for the majority of the morning! I was extremely impressed, and we saw Tarzan Rocks (uh, where is Tarzan in this thing? After all, it is named after him! lol) and Festival of the Lion King. I enjoyed FOTLK much more. Then we just kinda hit up stuff again, waited for Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade, and then headed out to Epcot a bit later..
When we arrived, we first headed to Mission: Space. It was about a 25 min wait but we still got a FP for later so we could do it again if it filled up. I must say, I was very impressed by this ride and enjoyed it, but, I got that "sick" feeling in it, especially when going around the moon, but I still had fun. We then walked around and did JII, and then went to Restaraunt Marrakesh for dinner. It was a great place! I think we did M:S after that, and then I can't remember, haha. So, when 10:00 rolled around, we went to the lagoon to see IllumiNations. I must say, this is a FANTASTIC show, I had never really seen it before and it blew me away. But what was even more impressive, were the 4th of July fireworks finale following it. It was amazing! In about the last 10 seconds, it seemed like they fired off a million fireworks, I thought the whole world was going to explode! I definately think we made the right choice for fireworks on the 4th. And to our surprise after the show, while leaving, SSE was being decorated with some kind of projection system (which you all know about now). It was very kewl, they had the American flag, Statue of Liberty, natural landmarks, and so many other things. Overall, I had a wonderful day!
Now, I go quickly through what we did the rest of the week..
- July 5th - Went to MGM Studios. I still love this park. Maybe it's the "classic Hollywood" thing about it but it's just so much fun everytime I go. I loved it! We also saw MagicalMonorail that night when we watched Fantasmic. It turned out we sat in the same row, totally unplanned. Weird huh?
- July 6th - Went to Typhoon Lagoon. LOVE THIS PLACE! I definatley think it's better than Blizzard Beach, and I can't wait to see what this new master-blaster slide might be like! Also, since we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge, we went to Whispering Canyon Cafe that evening. It rocked! Definately one of the best and most fun meals I've ever had. Glad I went!
- July 7th - Went to Magic Kingdom. After walking around and going to some of the classic attractions, we went and did Mickey's PhilharMagic. WOW! That's what I said when it was all over, after laughing at Donald being stuck in the walls of the theater. For some reason, I think this is now my favorite WDW attraction, ever! Maybe it's because I used to watch all the feature movies constantly as a kid, or just loved the apple pie smell, but it was definately a winner in my book! Then when nightime rolled around and after a great SpectroMagic parade, I was blown away again. Wishes is amazing! I loved the music, and some of the fireworks I've never seen before and they were awesome! My favorite fireworks show now
. And then after that, we met up with MagicalMonorail again and did an E-Ride night. We had an awesome time, even though I "temporairly" lost my cell phone, we still had a great time! Thanks Jeffrey!
- July 8th/July 11th - Disney Wonder Cruise. The ship is beautiful, the food rocks, and it still has the magical and quality service that Disney is legendary for. I had an amazing time, and I kept real busy with the teen programs they had (I was up until 3 AM atleast 2 of the 3 nights!!). I would definately recommend this cruise to anyone! It was a blast!
- July 11th (evening) - We took at rest at Old Key West and then headed out to Spoodles (at the Boardwalk Resort). I had an awesome dinner! And if you have a group, I'd recommend the dessert platter for, well, dessert lol. It was verrrrrrrrrrry good! We then walked around to Fantasia Gardens and had a wonderful mini golf game (tied with my sis, by my dad still won
 ). And uh, I kinda freaked my dad and sis out whenever Fantasmic came on in the background and I sang along until the ENTIRE thing! They were like "Wow, you really are obsessed with Disney" lol
- July 12th - Met up with my bestest buddy Patrick lol. He basically covered everything we did that day, and if you want to read about it, go here.
- July 13th - Went to Universal Studios. Main reason I wanted to go was to ride Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride. Awesome ride, yet it was way overhyped and the ending really is horrible, but a fun ride nonetheless. I also hung out with Patrick and Tifani by the way, and I had an awesome time that day as well.
- July 14th - We finished up stuff at Epcot, and went over to the Magic Kingdom later on and did PhilharMagic again as well as the other stuff. We also had dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. I was very impressed! Last time, I remember the food wasn't that great, but this time it was very good and I had a fun time. We then saw Wishes a bit afterwards and did another E-Ride Night (I love doing these, they're very helpful when the waits are mad long during the days).
- July 15th - Went to the parks again with Patrick, and the Kenan later on. I had an awessssssssome time! Best memory of the day was probably the special effects thing we did on the backlot tour. Wow, it was so much fun, lol. But, if you wanna read more/his update, go here.
I had an amazing time with Patrick at the parks! Thanks so much, and by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
This was also *sniff* our last night, so we went to O'hanas for dinner. The food was GREAT, but not as great as everyone made it seem like it was. We also ate late so we could watch Wishes while eating our last Disney meal. We had a table right by the window. It was very magical!
- July 16th - We had to do the worst thing today. Pack up, and wave goodbye to WDW :'(...but.... I'm already planning for our next Disney adventure!!
So, on the update side, here are a few things I noticed...
- Everest is HUGE! Whenever I first saw it on the fourth, the top section wasn't added, but when I came back from the cruise, poof! It was there.. I have some pictures of that..
- At night, there's a large crack (kinda) in the IASW wall (near the exit) and you can see it there with the worklights on really well. Now, I'm probably wrong, but to me, it looked like the water was drained. And speaking of drained, the entire Skyway section was walled off and the pond by it was also drained (this was also an case where the wall wasn't there before the cruise, but I came back, and there it was!). Also at night in the MK (you especially notice this in E-Ride nights), you can hear Stitch talking very well, it's a cute touch, actually. I also got an SGE snowglone at Merchants of Venus, it's cute, and they were selling other SGE merchandise.
- 20K Lagoon looks NASTY!!! They really ripped it up, lol. I took a picture of it on the 12th, and the again on the 14th, and a large pile of trash that was in it on the 12th, was gone by the 14th, I'll post that when I can..
- Stunt Show looks great! The themeing of the backdrop looks very kewl and well, Italian (duh! lol). There was also a case where the what I think will be entrance to the show was painted white at the beginning of my vacation, was yellow by the end. Also, the Golden Gate bridge was added to the San Fran skyline during my vacation... am I the only one who thinks it looks a bit odd? Like, it's eating San Francisco lol
- A construction wall was added to the old Odyssey restaraunt while I was there... hmm... what's going on?
- Speaking of construction walls, they seemed to be everywhere!!! And probably the best looking one, even though it looked fake, was the one at the base of Cindy's Castle to paint it gold. They tried to blend it in by making it looks like stones, and from a distance, it looks fine, but up close.... no lol.
- For the whole vacay, on Splash Mountain, the waterfall before the 3 foot drop at the end wasn't working, anyone know what's up with that?
-- Well, that's all I can remember for now, whenever I get all my pictures up (I have them of all this stuff, btw) I'll probably remember other things...
WHEW.. well that took forever! But anyways, thanks for reading! I can't wait to go back to the most magical place on earth, Walt Disney World!
