We booked our first Disney Cruise that sails this November on the Fantasy!!! Right now I have stateroom 7020 but I'm starting to 2nd guess it. I don't think that I'll get motion sickness, but certain things like reading in the car, Mission Space, Tea Cups will get me nauseous. I've read that forward is the worst location. I could change to room 7071 but that is right next to the elevators. Should pay an extra $400 to be mid-forward?

Also, I saw that there is a "behind-the-scenes" tour on the Dream. Does anyone know if there will be one on the Fantasy, the name of it, and the age limit. THANKS!!

I get nauseous reading in the car and sometimes on the teacups but had no problem on the Magic and we were on it for 12 Days in The Med :sohappy:

The location sounds more handy than neccessary but for $400 I'd stay where you are!

No details are out yet about Onboard tours, but keep an eye on these boards and when details are out you should find it here

When I sailed on the Dream, there was an "Art of the Cruise Ship" walking tour. The Dream, Wonder and Magic all have this walking tour; so I would be very surprised if there was not something similar on the Fantasy.

This was not so much a "behind the scenes" tour. Rather, it was a tour of the public spaces that discussed the themes and design of each space.

I've stayed both Forward and Aft on the Dream. Neither is 'bad', and honestly I think the motion of the ship is more prominent Aft. I also noticed it more on the lower decks than the upper decks. I think it's really about the weather/time of year you are sailing for how much you're going to feel the ship moving. Rougher waters = rougher ride. November should be ok I think, maybe a little rocky around Nassau/Castaway. That being said, it's not anything major even when it's "bad" - and if it is giving you trouble there's always Dramamine. Usually most people hardly notice it except for the coat hangers clattering around at night.
I wouldn't move to midship for more money. 7020 is also a WAY nicer room than 7071 (Deluxe Ocean View vs. Standard Inside) - are you sure it costs more for 7071?
Anyway, I would stay put, nicer room, the location change isn't that drastic anyway, and you are already pretty close to the elevators anyway. Motion sickness is most likely not going to be a factor, I've never seen anyone on the cruise feeling sick due to rocking even when its "bad".

I totally screwed that up. We are booked in room 7022 Cat 7a and can change to 7170 in the same cat. 7022 is forward and 7170 is aft next to the elevators instead of forward. I've just been reading that forward gets more motion. It seems that it will be more convenient to be by the elevators and we sleep with white noise so I don't think noise will be a factor. I've decided not to move up in categories to go mid-ship, not worth the extra $400. So now it's just the aft vs forward decision. Thanks for your reply guys and sorry for the wrong info.
