Hello everyone:

My family will be visiting Florida from Feb 6-Feb 20 2016. We have 5 days park passes (without park hopper) and will be staying off site. It will be a family of four, with a 7year old girl and a 4 year old boy. My husband and I went to Disney in 2007 for our honeymoon and we were run off our feet and it seems like a whole blur). I am trying to have a bit more of a plan. We are from Canada so we are also trying to look into cell service/data plans for our cell phones. I do have a few questions..

1. Do we have to use the 5 days consecutively, or can we do a day at Disney, then have a down day at home?

2. Is there some place where I could find out when the fireworks and laser shows are and where to go for them?

3. I would LOVE to ride the monorail (I know, small things ). Is this available to non resort guests? If so, how can I get on it.

4. (Hubby's question). Where would you go for dinner in Downtown Disney in the evening for 2 adults (hoping maybe the in laws will watch the kids)?

First of all welcome to the forums.

There are lots of experts here on the forum that will be able to help you out.

Depending on who your cell provider is will depend on cell use and data while in the USA. We are with Bell and usually just go with the talk and text plan they provide for US use. We have never opted for any sort of data plan since we stay on site and use Disney's in park wifi. You might want to look for some sort of data since you will be staying off site.

You do not have to use your park tickets consecutively. You are able to have off days in between park days. I believe that your tickets must be used within 14 days of the first day you enter a park.

Since you are offsite you will have to park at the Ticket and Transportation Centre on the day you wish to go to the Magic Kingdom. You will have the option to use either a monorail or ferry to get from the TTC to the MK entrance. Once you are onsite all of Disney's types of transportation are available to you (boats, trains and buses). If you wish you can resort hop between the monorail loop hotels and have a nice ride around 7 seas lagoon.

As for the evening fireworks at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios, you will be able to find that info on the My Disney Experience website https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/

You can create an account and link your tickets to it. This will enable you to be able to make fastpass selections for the days you are at the parks. It also has park hours and the times of all the different shows and attractions that are happening.

There is a plethora of restaurants in Disney Springs (it is no longer called Downtown Disney). It all depends on what type of atmosphere and food you are looking for. Try using this site to have a look and see if something interests you http://allears.net/dining/at-a-glance/disney-springs

Good luck in your planning and don't hesitate to ask any questions no matter how silly they may seem. We have all had questions to one thing or another at some point.

Welcome to the forums - just to add to the above response, each park is great about telling you where the good spots are to watch fireworks. In general, at the magic kingdom just herd up toward the castle on main street so the train station is behind you. At Epcot anywhere around the lagoon is great. We always take a break during the day to help the kids rest up, if you don't want to do that, maybe book a sit down lunch so the family can get off their feet.

Roam Mobility has good cell rates, as long as you have an unlocked cell phone. It's $10 for a sim card and then $4 per day.

Also keep in mind that there is free wi-fi throughout the WDW resort.
