14 day ticket

Hi all,

the last time we were in Disney World we flew in on a Friday, arrived in the afternoon, got to hotel and went to parks for the evening fireworks. We stayed for 14 nights and were able to use our ticket to enter the park on the last day of our holiday in the morning before we travelled home that evening. This time we are going to arrive on a Tuesday and are staying for 16 nights - the plan was to not rush the first day and to go to the parks and use our first park day on the Wednesday. I was wondering, will the same happen this year that we can use the ticket from the Wednesday until the following Wednesday? Does it work on a 24 hour basis which is why the tickets worked for more than 14 actual days the first time around - i.e. we didn't go to the park until the evening time so the ticket would expire the evening of our last day?

I wouldn't bank on it but you might get lucky. The tickets don't work on a 24 hour basis, a day starts at park opening and lasts until the end of any EMH at night (so if MK is open until 3 am you could enter at 1am).

Asking Disney is likely to differing answers (imagine that ;)). If it were me, I'd look for the "21 days for 14" offer but if it worked for you last time it might do again. Did you use the tickets every day last time or did you have any non-park days? I think it might last for the 15th day if you don't actually use it for each of the 14 days before.

We always have a few non Disney days, although we often pop in for a couple of hours after. But we've either been for 14 nights and not gone on arrival day, or been for 19 so obviously got the 21 day ticket. Sorry :(

So found out (all be it from Disney so likely information could change) that the water parks and disney parks are different parts of the ticket. We have 14 days to use in the parks and also access to the water parks - meaning that if we use our ticket for the first time on day 1 of our holiday, and somewhere over the course of the next 14 days use a waterpark day or take a day in DS or shopping etc and don't use a park then it is possible to use the park ticket on day 15. Wonder if this will actually happen when it comes to park entry but hopefully!

That makes sense though, which is what I thought. Most Disney tickets have to be used within 14 days. Since the maximum they sell in the US is a 10 day ticket, that gives a few days leeway to use those "extras" like waterparks.

If they are selling a 14 day ticket, and also of course 14 night packages, it would be a bit mean to insist you couldn't use them on both arrival and departure day. So although you can only use them for 14 days at the parks, they're giving you longer to use the other parts of the ticket. I wonder how far you can stretch it? Like if we could get 14 day tickets and use them over 17 days..... I might check that out depending on how long we me our next trip.

Glad you got an answer. :)
