Just got back late last night from a 5 day trip to POFQ. So I figured I would throw out some reviews of the differing things we did and saw.
Port Orleans French Quarter- as far as moderates go (and we have stayed at CSR and CBR) this was by far the best of the bunch. It is very small, which was a great positive for us considering the crowds that we faced. The theme is great and very kid friendly, and it is overall very quaint and quiet. The only negative was that the mattresses were terrible. Outside of that, it was a great place to stay.
Restaurants:
Biergarten Restaurant- one word...meh. It was mediocre at best. It was good for an experience, but would not go back again. Outside of sitting next to an anti-semitic racist, who was happy to explain his philosophy to me, the food was ok and nothing to write home about. The service was excellent however, and that was the only positive out of the evening.
Boma- we visit every year, and there is a reason we do. It is phenomenal...the selection is great, taste is extraordinary and the service is top notch. This will remain a constant for us for future visits. Cant say enough about how much we loved it.
50's Primetime Cafe-overall very nice experience. Ambiance is tremendous as was the service. Cliff was a great server and had a great personality to work with mom's rules. Food was pretty solid, as the fried chicken was quite tasty. Also, I would be remiss if I didnt mention the older gentleman who greeted us with a warm smile and a handshake, which was quite welcomed on a very cold day.
Rose and Crown (lunch)- WOW! We were seated outside on New Years Eve for a very nice lunch. I had the strip steak with yorkshire pudding and loved it. BTW, the black velvet is a wonderful drink to go with it. This was by far the best dining experience we had, and is another constant for us when we go.
The only QS I will mention was lunch yesterday at Be Our Guest. There was a brief wait, but it was well worth it. Very good steak sandwich, and the turkey sandwich was also excellent (my wife's choice). The ambiance is amazing and I am looking forward to trying this as a TS in the future.
