100 years of Magic pin going crazy - video

I just found out that I have this, it took a video of my pin lighting up at the end of It's a Small World. Here's what it looks like for everyone who hasn't seen them before.

100yom_pin.wmv - 1.72mb Windows media format
RIght click and select "save target as...."

Wow! What fun! I was going to get that one, but decided to get the MGM one, instead. I love the way the colors flow through the design when you touch it rather than just flashing, like it does on the ride.

I have the Magic Kingdom pin and really enjoyed watching it go absolutely berzerk on the rides. Anyone know how long the pins will be working if at all after the 100 years of magic celebration is over? I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with new designs using the same technology for the next " celebration ".

Yeah, so maybe I do. Do you try to give a smart a** reply to all posts, or is it just me?

Do a little reasearch, you'll find, it's just you. In fact the reason I despise those little pins is because I go to WDW to see the attractions.

I only go to see them because I am Deaf. I don't go to see the clothing of the person next to me light up, flash & sparkle.

Imagine being in the PotC and someone turns on a RADIO drowning out the soundtrack. Wouldn't that bother you? Now imagine at the end of several E ticket rides, some A**hole turning on a radio. JUST so that disney could make an extra $18.95 off each of them.

Those pins are like visual pollution. They're distracting and annoying, so if I don't see the "excitement" in these stupid little pins, maybe you'll understand why.

Then you should have just said. They don't distract from the attraction experience. You're looking up and around not down at people clothes the whole time. They didn't distract me from the attractions and I had them attached to my bag. Yes, they were a bit on the expensive side but was happy I bought one. (Then I went back and bought two more :D )

From what I saw they looked to be pretty popular with people. I'm sure they'll keep the sensors where they are and probably release new ones after the 100 YOM celebration is over. I can't wait to get back down there and watch them light up again.

Maybe its just me BUT...

The few times I have seen them go off on rides (which is maybe once or twice, maybe) they really weren't distracting at all. I think you let them bother you too much- not all that many people happen.

And, in my opinion, you were just trying to say something you thought was funny at the expense of someone else's feelings. The whole "pins are distracting" argument was a mere attempt to defend yourself. And comparing lightup pins to a blasting radio is just weak. But that's only my opinion- maybe I'm wrong (stranger things have happened.)

It's not just you. That sounds just about right to me. Let's see, little pin flashing a couple of LED lights, (FOR FUN, which most people find them to be) compared to someone intentionally interrupting an attraction with a blaring radio.

Apples and oranges, my friend, apples and oranges.
