“Ezra” from the Haunted Mansion

So I know that “Ezra”, the Skeleton hitchhiking ghost, has a very similar (if not the same) head mold as the Hatbox Ghost over in Disneyland and the Ticket Ghost in Phantom Manor, but why is it that in all merchandise, promotional material, and even older versions of the ride, he’s bald, but if you ride the HM now, he has a full head of hair? (Actually not a full head, he’s just bald on top). My question is...why? Can anyone help me solve this obscure mystery, when/ why did Ezra get hair?

He decided to wear a wig for HM and therefore creating a new character. Actors, you know how they are. The merchandise having him bald is just to save money. It would cost too much to create another line with him having hair.

They share the same mold, it’s just painted differently. For years they thought the original Hatbox molds were lost but it turns out his head mold was labeled “Ezra/Hatbox” and the hands are from the coffin occupant.
