“Cheap” lightsaber question

Hi all, Is there a merchandise topic? I wasn’t sure about placement.

We will be in the world in July and my DS will be 8. Naturally he’s super excited about Star Wars land and has been saving his allowance so he can buy a lightsaber. He’s aware of the existence of the $200 ones, but wants a toy he can play with and knows that those aren’t it.

Can someone tell me if there are cheap ones available? Last time we were there, at the exit to Star Tours, there was a little area where you could put together a light saber. Is that still there?

Does anyone know if the cheap ones they have are the telescoping kind? He feels like that’s more realistic. I can just pick one up at Target if the ones in the park are too fancy. Might end up doing that anyway and returning it if we don’t need it, but I’d rather not waste the luggage space if I can avoid it.

Thanks!

You can still build a light saber at Tatoonie Traders as soon as you exit Star Tours. My son has built a few there when he was smaller. It is a fun and affordable experience, and they are telescopic. Also, get to the park early and sign him up for the free Jedi Training Academy. My son absolutely believed that he defeated Darth Maul.

Awesome! Thanks so much! We’re all pretty excited.

Seems to me your priorities are way out of whack. A Target lightsaber is never a waste of luggage space. I feel confident your eight year old son will agree.
