I think that everyone is missing a the main reason the parks stay open later - Disney World has 31,000 plus guest rooms on the park and wants to keep everyone there. If the parks close early the quest may go somewhere else and spend thier vacation dollars.

Rain Rain Go Away I always go to Target before going to WDW and buy a handfull of displosable emergency pouchos in the sporting goods shop (about a $1.00 each). Than just put them in the trash after the 15 minute rain is over. They are small enough to keep in ones pocket.
