News Pirate rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to be replaced with 'under the sea' theme

Yes. Is it the Beach Club? No, but it is a more upscale version of the AoA Little Mermaid rooms that are constantly excluded from all discounts due to popularity.

News Pirate rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to be replaced with 'under the sea' theme

Overall I like it - I am a fan of this type of practical room set up with convertible furniture. I am actually thinking this is a little more "themed" than some of the more recent room refurbs with the murals and small touches. I am surprised they are repeating the LM theme in another resort...

News Pirate rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to be replaced with 'under the sea' theme

A moderate level family suite would be interesting for a lot of people actually. Although I guess the Wilderness cabins are that, but the location is pretty remote to the parks.

Why I Will Definitely Go Again

I might change my opinion after this trip and genie +, but my guess is I will keep going every few years for quite a long time, barring catastrophe. There is too much nostalgia for me to let it go easily. I am fortunate enough to have been to WDW every decade of my life. I went with my...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

I disagree. FP+ was great for people like me, and allowed me to relax knowing that I had near guarantees of riding headliners. What is happening now is guaranteeing that this isn't really a vacation because I have no certainty at all of what I will be able to do, and with paark reservations...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

See, I think G+ "could" have been a good system. Virtual queues are an excellent idea in general, but the stress and difficulty of securing highly desired reservations kills a lot of the benefits of it. And having to manage it day of gives people a sense of insecurity about spending money on a...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

FP+ got gripes from people trying to book high demand rides like 7D and FOP sixty days out. They also didn't like having to nail down the park they were going to ahead of time. Park reservations and limited hopping have made that astronomically worse. None of those problems were fixed with...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

Yeah I think Disney is trying to figure out what they want their customer base to look like. They want some level of DVC members and AP folks, since that is a predictable revenue stream. They also want to make sure the once in a lifetime trips are pleasant ones, and know that those people will...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

At this point, I honestly think the plan is they want a certain level of dissatisfaction from people who aren't going to spend "enough" at the parks. I think they are actively cultivating it. They want a limited number of people to be in the parks that spend a lot of money each day, because...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

Yeah I also think they are doing this to start doing demand pricing. It was probably the goal all along. I just really hope they don't start "day of" ticket sales at midnight, because thats a no go for me.

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

If they kept the old system and started charging for it, people would have lost their minds. They needed to change it to something else, but this ain't it chief. The issue is they have created a product that has become a rite of passage for American childhood, plus the draw of nostalgia for...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

Hmmmm so just by capping the amount of G+, that is going to spark demand. I wouldn't be so sure its not going to sell out quickly, at least at first.

Does Genie + ever sell out now? What time does it normally sell out?

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

Great...I am going in early January. I get to be the guinea pig for this ing disaster. Do I have to buy it at midnight then get up again at 6:45? Or do I have to get up at 6:45am and try to beat everyone else to buy it, then try to beat everyone else to reserve a good ride? Its all so...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

    MK Dessert Party thoughts?

Personally I think it's worth it, for the time and sanity savings. I also get a lot of value out of the desserts/appetizers since I will skip dinner that night and make it my evening meal. That helps offset the cost.
