The Integration of Fox into the Disney Corporate Family: Parks, Movies, IPs, Studios

It was in fact a concession Disney made to get approval for the 21CF merger. They were given 18 Months to dispose of it. It took longer because of COVID and the challenge of finding a buyer.

    Disney's FY20 Q3 Earnings (8/4/20)

The $5 Billion dollar charge was for international operations (writing the value of the international channels down to their value). It would have happened with our without Covid-19. Also, if there are no baseball games on ESPN, then they don't have to pay MLB for the rights. But ESPN is...

Let's say Mulan in Theaters is going to earn $400 Million, over 6 weeks. To match the same revenue, Disney will need to get 13.4 million households to rent the movie. If you assume Disney would have kept 70% of the gross, and with VOD Disney is keeping 100% of the purchase price, the total...

We just returned from an 8 day stay at the Riviera. Our experience was the same as yours..... Frankly we felt safer at Disney than we do back at home in NC. The airport was the scariest part of the trip..... You didn't miss anything at Epcot. With Covid or not, the place is just sad. It is...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Scott Gottlieb was just on CNBC and the reporter asked him about this..... The CDC will still get the data it has been receiving andthe CDC will make the data available to the public. The CDC infrastructure is old and processes are antiquated (not designed to handle these volumes). According...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

I’ll do it for you...oh hell yeah we are gonna see a ton of jobs eliminated and a renewed push for more streamlining and automation coming out of this. I agree, but don't think there is anything magical about this quarters earnings announcement which would make Disney wait. If they are going...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

The change in the death rate they are reporting is a change of 0.000057%. I know it is morbid, but the change in the death rate is not statistically significant, and tying them all to COVID is to easy of an explaination

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

My only hope at this time, is the email to the Travel Companies was a ”trial balloon“ to see how people would react. and others will react like me and cancel their reservations. Resulting in a decision which will maintain park hopper availability in July so we can still go and get our ”Disney...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

The article quotes an email sent to travel agents, which states park-hopper will be unavailable through the rest of 2020. I am not talking about permanent or temporary elimination of park-hopper. I am telling you that the elimination of the park-hopper option in July, when we plan to go, is in...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

If the rumors are correct, and this is for the remainder of 2020, then that isn’t temporary. And to my original post, this will result in the cancellation of our late July reservations for 3 people for a week, because the experience will not be worth it to us.... This is the straw that would...
