New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

My wording was bad I apologize, I didn't and don't want to sound antagonizing at all. Just, I'm in that group of disabled locals and I'm terrified Disney will view things this way and I'll end up facing even more challenges. I am local. I do know what I'm doing in a Disney park. I've been a...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I'm not saying this to pick a fight or to bash your opinion and observations, quite the opposite as it's something I've been super stressed over. In my case (and I can only speak for myself) I have several interconnected disabilities where they all sort of make each other "worse" in certain...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

You also get a different answer every time you ask, even at the same attraction. It's down to the individual cast member. Someone who hears "you can leave at any time" doesn't have all the information they need. I was told there are cast members in the queue to let people in and out, but no idea...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

As we were leaving about an hour ago they announced it was running at a slower pace, dunno why they'd keep calling groups in that situation though.

I assume it's a combo deal of AA stuff and I mean splash mountain was touchy too. Poor thing needed a great deal of love. But I'm just speculating

Thank you! They've paused boarding so we hope to be nearby when it goes back up as we're the next group to be called. I can wait forever on a bench but not very long in a queue 🤣

Does anyone know the queue time once your group is called? Like how long the physical line is?

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

Ohhh I hate the empty logs/cars in any of the VQ rides. We are pretty fast and usually get a top 10 group for Tron and the sheer volume of empty cars when we go to photo pass to recover our pics just drives me bananas. So many more people could be riding in the early part of the day. Call a...

That's good to hear. We were at lunch with my father and our group will be called soon. From house to mk gates with parking it takes close to an hour. Fingers crossed!

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Not specifically, no. But they do know how many das return times have been requested. I imagine there's data on the average return timeframe. Everyone likely wants to return as soon as they're able, able might not be right away it may be several hours for some, but the data would be available...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

There's also the function of g+ vs fp+ to consider. A lot of folks who could get by using fp+ can't with g+ and had to ask for help. I'm not saying shady people don't exist, just that there's more than a cost difference between g+ and fp+

I imagine because it's the logical park to get a reservation at if you're trying to hop to mk so everyone who didn't qualify for the 7am drop was at Epcot at 1pm

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

I did think it was really strange to see it open for THAT long this morning. Like for a very touchy ride that has quite a lot of downtime you'd think they'd limit the 7am drop if only to avoid the "it's been 7 hours and my group hasn't been called" complaints. Why even have a 1pm drop, nevermind...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Yep, I agree. The subjective nature, the overall juggling of my body/mind/needs of the day with what I'm offered in the moment is very stressful. But while the decision in the moment is up to the cm their training isn't. This wasn't Chris from Orlando's idea. I just hope as things move forward...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I'm local but have hotel stays planned with family in the fall so it's a bit of a double whammy. I look like I'm not alone when I visit but I also don't need a hotel stay to visit.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Oh I absolutely agree. I'm just trying to keep my written tone very even and clinical. I'm livid, but my anger isnt helping on this thread/in general. I don't know the law well enough to know how it isn't discriminatory. I'm just hoping it changes quickly.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

That is what I was told yesterday. They have "no accomodations for parties of one at this time." Of course this presents all sorts of problems for people who are alone or with young children or with other disabled folks. I'm hoping it gets smoothed out.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

It's also attraction specific. At space mountain a party of any size has to make it to merge and then someone can tell the cast member they need to leave and then they'll be sent back up when ready. At tower of terror they do not have any accomodations for parties of one. If you are unable to...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I'm lost in the acronyms but I was told when I asked two days ago at space mountain that I would be allowed to leave the queue after I made it to merge and told that cm that I needed to leave, and then would be brought back to merge upon my return. Which is completely useless, if I could make it...
