    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Poster was designed for WDW by Larry Nikolai: https://www.larrynikolaiartist.com/posters Don’t believe Splash had a poster at DL before this. The park and land logo were changed, leaving the WDW-designed attraction logo in place

Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

Motion base may be generous, I’ve heard it’s not a whole lot more than tilting. Again take this with a grain of salt things may have changed. Either way- both the DisneySea Peter Pan and Epcot Guardians show buildings are absolutely massive and I’m concerned building either of these systems in...

Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

This info may be outdated at this point because this thing has changed so many times but last I heard it was a “family thrill ride” utilizing the same ride system as the new trackless Peter Pan being built at DisneySea. Ride vehicle was shown at the last D23 expo. Screens with depth integrated...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Thought I'd pop in here just to give my opinions on a few things... if anyone is interested Went to Disneyland this past Sunday for the first time since 2017 and had a few thoughts: 1. Star Wars Land is impressive in scale and detail but lacks substance. Liked the reveals of the different areas...

    Pirates refurb dates released

Just a side note, but Paul Frees has now been completely eliminated from the attraction. His cavern voices, Blackbeard, Auctioneer and Pooped Pirate characters have now all been replaced.

Disney to make daily announcements about new park offerings - 12 Days of Disney Parks Christmas

This is actually a pretty standard architectural model. White models are a necessary step in the design process for architectural projects, and are usually made before the final presentation model. Disney always releases photos of presentation models. I am pretty surprised they released photos...

Candlelight Ceremony 2017 - Chris Hemsworth

Hearing there will be no announcement, it will be revealed when the narrator walks on stage tonight.

Candlelight Ceremony 2017 - Chris Hemsworth

The Candlelight narrator this year is a very big name. Disney has been withholding the announcement to keep capacity at a manageable level.

Mickey and the Magical Map Reviews? Any good?

I'm not a fan. Same rehash of songs you get in Soudsational, Disneyland Forever, and World of Color. Also thought the story/writing was too tacky and over the top. It's fun for kids, but definitely not up to the quality of past shows in the space.

Is there anything worse than Jasmine's Bird Song™ in the Aladdin Musical?

Oh come on it's a great song. However, in the context of the theme park stage musical, it does slow down the pacing of the show. But I do think it's a gorgeous song that should have been incorporated into the new Broadway production.

RDCT and Disneyland Forever: which do you prefer?

The Frontierland/Big Thunder segment was cut in 2008 as a cost saving measure. RDCT ran quite long in its original format, and removing the segment brought it closer to the run time of an average show.

    Swing Dancing?

Swing dancing does happen on Saturday nights. From what I saw, it runs from sundown, takes a break during Paint the Night and Disneyland Forever, and continues until the start of the 2nd Paint the Night. Saw it just this past Saturday.

The fabulous 'Tony Baxter Tour of Disneyland' - a venture

Really looking forward to hearing the details of your story! Tony is a great guy and I'm so glad you were able to meet him. Again, glad you had a great time and looking forward to hearing all about it.

The 60th Anniversary of Disneyland: The Reality of it All

She was the interior decorator under the guidance of show producer/creative director Tony Baxter... The new Lincoln show is Baxter's doing, without a doubt.

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

Phase 2 was never on the level of the original expansion. There are multiple projects in development for DCA, but they will not all be funded at the same time, as the first round of expansion was. The Grizzly Peak Airfield, Hollywoodland retheme, Marvel coaster, Paradise Pier additions; all...

Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald takes over the creative direction of Epcot

Lasseter put all his eggs in the basket with Cars Land. As of now, he has little-to-no political pull on Parks matters. He's still the top dog for animation, but has really lost all say in terms of leading WDI.

New Disneyland Big Thunder effects will they come to WDW?

Lisa Girolami is very new to WDI. Her work as Producer on Mermaid and Buena Vista Street were her first big projects of size with WDI. Blame for Mermaid definitely goes with Lisa and Larry Nikolai. To me, it feels like they let the computer do most of the design work. There are very simple...

    DL EXPERTS: Plan me this!

You can stand anywhere in the hub for the fireworks and still get solid spots for Fantasmic. I would recommend trying to stand as close to the castle as possible, preferably on the Tomorrowland side of the hub for the best view of the fireworks. When the show is over, was towards Frontierland...
