Levi's Store announced for Disney Springs this summer

I think the international visitor is key here. I was just online shopping from a European clothing chain, and I noticed that they only have four stores in the United States. Two of those stores are in NYC. The third? MCO. If a European chain would put one of its four US stores in the Orlando...

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

Humans on Mars is still a viable option for Future World... anyone seen/read The Martian? It is not a "Tomorrow of Yesterday" concept in my opinion. When I think about technology that's in reach, but either not quite proven or integrated into our lives, I think about things like augmented...

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

I feel like replacing the art exhibit when you first walk into the pyramid with something new would be nice, but also probably too much to ask from Disney.

Wheelchairs no longer complimentary at Disney's water parks

That's what I said about the Olympic wrestling coaches to whom he is referencing.

Trip Report The Texas Ranger, The Beast, and We "started the fireworks": A trip of firsts!

My last trip to WDW was with my husband's (relatively) large family, and my brother-in-law who is experienced in graphic design and screen printing made us all matching family vacation shirts! At first it was cheesy, but really it was a great visual signal in the crowds AND it got a lot of...

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

Yeah, and that's the kicker! In Lean you should define value from your customer's perspective. Why do customers buy your product over others? Because they value x, y, and z. You shouldn't give consideration to what YOU as a business value, because you're not buying your own product.

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

I like the discussion! Defining value is the key factor here, and like @Rodan75 pointed out, that can get tricky in a service environment. Just cutting cost is not the same as eliminating non-value added activity-- thus why I said a misapplication/misunderstanding of Lean.

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

Definitely a misapplication/perversion/misunderstanding of Lean. It's unfortunate really, and why I think Lean gets a bad name these days.

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

I have been lead to believe that they have always padded wait times to an extent. Before FP+, it was to make people feel better about waiting in line because "hey, the wait said X and we only stood in line for Y." I can't speak for their motivations today or if the amount of time added has...

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

I can see 60th being important because of "diamond jubilee" and whatnot. Also 75th. But 45? Ehhhh... that's a stretch. I'm trying to think about other anniversary celebrations, like work and marriages and other companies/institutions. I don't really think I can think of another that would roll...

Trip Report The Texas Ranger, The Beast, and We "started the fireworks": A trip of firsts!

Your meal at LTT looks yummy! We went to LTT my first visit to WDW as a kid, and my dad was disappointed, because we had eaten in a tavern in Colonial Williamsburg a few years before, and that was legitimate colonial tavern food. I guess that's what he was expecting! Lol. Also, I'm a little...

Love Silicon Valley... especially when after a career change I suddenly found myself in the world of IT development. It's on point a lot.

    Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana breakfast?

Traveling solo, I would pick 'Ohana. The view from 'Ohana is beautiful, and the buffet at Chef Mickey's isn't anything to write home about.

I'm not disagreeing... just saying that's a pretty broad statement to make over all industries...

    The Spirited 11th Hour ...

I would argue that the prominence of CEOs who "started from the bottom now we're here" vs Ivy League CEOs depends on the industry that you look at. And it might even differ within an industry if you just move down an org level or two to VPs.

Can't wait! And the smiles on Hunter's face during Hoo Dee Do were so sweet too! Looks like those boys had a great time.
