Random Observation: Walking Behavior Past vs Today

Or the family of four is spread out across the sidewalk but each person is two paces off each other so they're in a zig-zag formation taking up the entire sidewalk.

One week until trip-have no idea what to expect

Husband and I canceled our trip last night. Originally booked for December 7 to 10. Several reasons, biggest is that my mom is nominated to be the person inducted into the "Hall of Fame" this year in the county where I grew up. And just coincidentally the banquet will be on one of the nights we...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I got my Pfizer booster yesterday at a CVS and my husband got his Moderna at another CVS -- across the street from each other (LOL), one in a Target -- and at both the pharmacist asked us to wait 15 minutes "if you have the time". I waited the full 15 and then walked around the Target shopping...

    LIGHTNING LANE SUCKS

Husband and I are returning in December after about 5 years with no WDW vacation. Before we went every year from 2004 to 2016. To give ourselves the best chance to ride RotR and Toy Story, I'll use Genie+ and LL. We're not rope-droppers but we stay for Evening EMH if they're available. I don't...

Trip Report Honey, lets take the kids out of school - First December visit 2021

Have a magical vacation! My husband and I will be there Dec 7 to 10 for an anniversary vacation, and in MK the same day as you. 🙋‍♀️ We've been in December once before and really enjoyed the holiday theme, plus got lucky with good weather.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Husband and I went to a CVS in DC a couple of weeks ago for our flu shots and they would have given us the booster shot if we'd wanted it, no specific questions to check if we qualified to take it at that time. I didn't like the idea of both shots in one day so we made an appointment for our...

Food portion cuts to increase profits?

I agree with you, however, what most of us are objecting to is not the portion size decrease but the decrease plus the stupid comment. Portion sizes are large, and I'd be surprised if they shrank so much that people would still be hungry after a meal in the park. My husband and I always split...

    What’s POSITIVE about disney recently?

I've been pleased to read the Shooting Gallery is still in operation (and now is free) as I recalled reading that it would be taken out. On our last visit I was the only one shooting and (forgive me a little brag here) I was hitting all the targets. I had the place lit up! So the CM attending...

One week until trip-have no idea what to expect

Thanks! I'll look for your report. We're going at a traditionally "light" crowd time, as we always do, yet somehow I anticipate it will be more crowded than expected, and due to new Genie+ and LL, Covid closures and changes, a lot more stressful. We don't go to WDW to stress.

One week until trip-have no idea what to expect

I'm starting to feel the same about our (husband and I) short trip in early December. Waiting until December 1 because by then we will have learned if a previously unexpected family-member event will happen on one of the nights of our trip. If so, we'll definitely cancel/postpone our (completely...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

I feel much the same. My husband and I are making a short mid-week trip in early December. I could almost skip the parks and just enjoy the resort, pools, spa, restaurants, Boardwalk, and Disney Springs. I did that once on a solo trip and went only to DHS for one afternoon and evening of my...

What do you think December is going to be like this year?

Are the parks still at lowered entrance capacity? We expect our visit in early December will be a bit busier than in previous years, and we're also wondering how many international WDW fans will jump to visit in December because U.S. borders are re-opening.

Is it worth ? (Holiday season)

If you have Marriott Bonvoy reward points perhaps you can use them for free nights at the Swan or Dolphin, which are Marriott properties and quasi-Disney. They have Disney decor and also park transportation, and as Magicmom203 said, you get the early entry perk. I'm not sure about the late-night...

News Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours coming for resort guests

Husband and I have visited during the slow times of the year and loved Evening EMH because often the parks were a ghost town, especially when they stayed open until 11:00 or midnight.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Swan & Dolphin?

My husband and I have stayed at the Dolphin many times and the Swan a couple of times. Haven't been there since 2017 so not sure how things are going as far as service, house cleaning, restaurants, etc. due to the pandemic. I believe the Dolphin has had a nice refurb since we were there last. I...

Anyone else enjoy boating in Disney World?

Well, depends on what their "generally" means. I'm sure they don't expect folks to go out without water and perhaps a small snack pack. At the other end of the spectrum would be a huge cooler with a keg and a full-on picnic. A small personal cooler with a couple of beers perhaps might be...

What current attractions have you never experienced, despite having been to WDW?

On my first ride on Kali River Rapids I was the one to get totally soaked! It was December and about 65 degrees at 6pm. But being Florida it actually didn't feel bad. Bought a beach towel from the conveniently located ;) kiosk at the ride's exit, and used the hand dryer in the ladies room to dry...

Anyone else enjoy boating in Disney World?

I recommend a little water outing to everyone! Years ago on a family vacation (mom, younger sis, and I) I rented one of the little boats from the dock at Wilderness Lodge and took my sister out on the water. She was a special needs person so couldn't have piloted one on her own, but with me...

    Because you all understand...

I totally understand. I could go to many places and yet a Disney World vacation is guaranteed relaxation and simple joy. I'm so lucky my husband sees it the same way; it's been our winter escape for many years, and we often think of going a second time in spring or fall!

    The Dolphin!

Don't want to ride the Disney bus that makes lots of stops, don't want the dining plans, don't buy stuff so don't need package delivery, don't need to wear a Magic Band. At the Dolphin we do get EMH, FP+ selections, great restaurants, great pools, a more adult environment with plenty of Disney...
