Nintendo partnering with Universal to make attractions.

Wow, really impressed by the mixture of AR and sets. Also, the two actual 'reviews' of the ride we've gotten so far have emphasized that the AR works well and lines up with its environment, so I'm inclined to think that most of the perceived jankiness in the POV is mostly due to it being filmed...

That's not the ceiling. That's the brim of the Mario hat which the visor is attached to. The person who filmed this video stuck their phone inside the visor to give us that POV.

Could a knockoff Epcot Center be built?

    That is frickin' adorable!

It's astonishing how good it all looks! And those animatronics are so spot-on to the video game animations/movements.

Beauty and the Beast dark ride

Agreed. The sneak peek vids I've seen of the animatronics for the new Japan B&B dark ride made my jaw drop. I so hope it makes it across the ocean one day!

Nintendo partnering with Universal to make attractions.

Strongly disagree there. The over-saturated pics make everything look a few notches too 'loud' to me. Especially considering that these particular 'mountain ranges' are the tallest parts of Mario World. They benefit from the forced perspective trick of being a bit more subdued. I wouldn't be...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

Agreed. Night turns every theme park land into an indoor dark ride essentially :)

    Tank tops / shorts policy

When I go to theme parks (in the summer), a tank top or muscle-tee paired with shorts is my default. I usually pack a casual short sleeve, button up shirt in my bag, just in case.

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

Yeah, despite being a Potter nerd, like a lot of you, I'm most excited about the monster Yeah, a Lord of the Rings land would be a slam-dunk! I'm a big Star Trek fan, but I honestly don't think it would make a very compelling land. Other than the Enterprise (and various other ships...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

I'm not a huge fan of Fantastic Beasts either, but I am excited to experience a new 'Wizarding Land' land, even if it's based on locations from these films. I mean, even people who know nothing of the boy wizard or Newt would find an enchanted turn-of-the-century Paris charming, I'd think? I...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

I think the main difference is that The Crimes of Grindewald brought in a big overseas box office (even though it is widely considered a box office disappointment here in North America). The Divergent movies were not a hit internationally...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

That looks awesome. Truly like seeing the game come to life. And yeah, seeing all the moving props will add so much to it (clouds, coins, piranha plants)

From what I heard from people on the InsideOrlando forum, Epic Universe already has quite a bit of expansion pads for additional lands.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

I'd think that it would be as simple as the CMs just telling people to hurry up. Shouting at them to move their arses would actually be quite in character in this ride, lol.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

But that was out of necessity because of that guest injury (and risk of lawsuit). Selfies of the sexiest room in the shiny, new ride are the best advertising there is. I don't see Disney undercutting that by making guests give up their phones.

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge opening day reports - Disney's Hollywood Studios

I've been seeing a lot of ads for SWGE here in Toronto (subway ads, billboards, and local tv commercials)

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

I think it's a stretch to say that the park's intended 'cohesive theme' is mid-century America. Disneyland was built in mid-century American, yes. And as such, it is a product of the cultural moment that gave birth to it. But it's like saying that the theme of Islands of Adventure is...

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

Strolling onto this board to see what the new Spiderman ride is like, and I happen to be a Torontonian and illustrator who is a professional illustrator (whose preferred medium is digital).....strollin' right back out again.......

So what changes will we see at DHS GE based on DL GE?

I think what most people, even casual fans like me (who have only seen the original movies once) remember about the Mos Eisley Cantina is the live music and zany alien patrons that filled the place? My cousin who has already visited was disappointed that the bar in Galaxy's Edge was lacking that...

Wookies, & Rebels, & Droids... OH WHY?! The Anti-SWL in Disneyland Thread

Agreed! I like how in Islands of Adventure, you can experience the fun theatrical 'show' of seeing someone have a wand chosen for them at Ollivander's, but you don't even need to buy anything. The great thing about that little 'show' is that it really does make guests feel they are getting a...
