News Bird attack at Disney World leaves woman with traumatic brain injury

Lawsuits in excess of 15k have to be filed in circuit court, while below 15k are filed in county court. The threshold for small claims escapes me right now. That statement is made solely for purposes of establishing which court has proper jurisdiction. Whether $15,001 or $50,000,000, the case...

Thank you on the former. I'll be fine with the latter.

How Many Days for You? Part 12

After making multiple trips a year for several years, I stopped after August 2016. I probably won't be able to go til at least summer 2020 because of law school. If all stays according to plan, I'll sit for the Bar in July 2020. Being that the Bar is administered in Tampa, it will be a short...

News WDW Resorts to add fees for parking

Almost makes mute the benefit of not paying for parking while staying on site. Considering what the resorts were charging, it was hard to rationalize even that line of reasoning. This makes it certain there's no real benefit to staying on site anymore.

    Time to pay the piper.

If you're planning to make only one trip to Disney in your lifetime, then I guess yeah go all out. The problem is it can be overpriced. There are many ways to save and still have lots of fun. We usually just stay at a value resort. We only use the room to shower and sleep. If the parks are...

So is anyone not going anymore? (I'm still a fan. lol)

My last trip was August 2016. I was getting upset at the increasing prices but the main reason was I was going back to school after 15 years. I let my seasonal passes expire after several years. I didn't even have time to miss it the first year, but gotten the itch to go back at least for a...

    Hurricane Season?

In September you're going to get rained on. It's still the summer rainy season. They usually pass quickly but bring a poncho. In regards to hurricanes, yes it is the peak of the season and it's possible that a storm can come but as someone else said, in 45 years, they've closed twice for storms.

Help! I have only one day to visit all four parks.

It can be done but it's not easy even for a Disney expert. We go a few times a year and we've done it but you spend so much time going from park to park that it's not work it. Stick to one or maybe two and enjoy yourselves. I've gotten to the point where I know I will be back so it's just...

    February or May?

February will certainly be cooler and May will certainly be hot and humid. In February you will have smaller crowds than in May but you'll have more rides down for refurbishment too.

    When To Buy Park Tickets?

Yes. I've done this before and for up coming trip, I didn't even have to call. I was able to make the modification online. I had booked when Florida resident discounts came out and then a week later some pass holder discounts came out with a cheaper rate.

If you just had only one day...

Buy your tickets already. It's probably best to stick to one park since you haven't been to Disney before. There will be plenty to do. Set up your account like others have said, link the ticket and try to book some rides to save on time. Book a few rides for late morning or early afternoon...

From August 8 to November 18, 2016, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed for refurbishment

I know how you feel. On one of my trips the Pirates of the Caribbean was closed. That's my favorite ride. It sucks, but you'll manage. Late summer and early fall is a time when they will shut down a few rides for refurbishment. January and February is another time. It happens unfortunately.

Looking for experiences going to DW first week of October

While it is the statistical peak when you are arrive it doesn't mean Orlando will get hit. Odds are that it won't happen but if a major hurricane hits, and Orlando is in or near the eyewall, it is only 50 miles inland and relatively flat, it will feel the full brunt of it. Our last October...

Looking for experiences going to DW first week of October

Remember that it's Florida and the weather is unpredictable. Typically early October is still pretty warm and can be hot. The beginning of October can still have a summer type pattern. By the end the month, the humidity has most definitely dropped and you'll notice it much more comfortable...

Crowds are down? Curious about the claims . . .

Prices are the biggest factor. I remember when 10 years ago, a Florida Resident seasonal pass was $200 and a night at a value resort was no more than $70 during the value season. Seasonal or Silver passes as they are called now have almost doubled to $350 and I'm not seeing where i can get...
