Disney clearly sees there's a lot of passion for MuppetVision, otherwise they wouldn't have done the Monsters location announcement in conjunction with the RNRC retheme, and added the part about "[preserving] the film and other parts of the experience", but is there any world in which the thing...

They used "Can you picture that" in the Mayhem show, so I would assume they're OK to use it

The story of the show is that the Bears wrote the original songs but were ultimately ripped off as Bears cannot apply for copyright on their creations. It adds to the sad undertone of the whole thing.

I want Muppets to be saved at all costs and even I agree with this. Star Tours is still fun and it's such a toss-up way to add more 'Original Trilogy' stuff.

Honestly if they can come up with some half-baked reason the Monsters are in Tomorrowland, surely they could come up with a way to explain why the Muppets would be in Monstropolis. There's tons of crossover - Sweetums is a Monster, Frank Oz is in Monsters Inc, Steve Buscemi is basically a Muppet..

I agree that it's worth doing, if they're dead-set on taking it out of its current home. There are so many theaters in the parks showing basically the equivalent of "Whatever we had lying around".

I mean, they brought back Captain EO (temporarily), though admittedly MV3D has more elaborate effects

Replacing Muppets et. al for Monsters just feels to me like saying "I'm going to replace my kitchen with a garage instead of cleaning out my existing garage because I want to turn the existing garage into a new kitchen later"

I understand it's not as simple as moving the film, since there are animatronics & in-theater effects, but they have so many theaters showing filler (Mickey Shorts, Disney/Pixar Short Film Festival), surely MuppetVision would be a better fit for those spaces, and probably cheaper than moving...

Even if Monsters replaces the courtyard, is there any way MV3D survives elsewhere? Or are they just ditching it and planning new Muppet stuff potentially? I would really hate to lose that film.
