Scentsy and Walt Disney World are bringing a new guest experience within Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom

Supposedly, each of the Smellephants will be colored according to its scent. I'm staying away from the brown one.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I remember a scene in PatF where Facilier is lurking in an alley and glaring resentfully at Tiana's friend Charlotte's big fat rich oblivious daddy getting in a fancy conveyance. Maybe it's just me, but I felt a stab of sympathy for the Doctor then. A man without power, and without much chance...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Facilier is the movie's best character. A sympathetic villain, what's more. A man who seeks power in an age where power for a man like him is virtually non-existent. He made the wrong choice, but it's hard to fault him for his motives.

Oooh, are they planning an Epic Universe swatter? But seriously...you know this...how?

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Well, I agree with you, except about Mama Odie. IMO, she's one of the ugliest characters Disney has ever created: Can you imagine that thing full-sized, three-dimensional, talking and moving and everything? How nice that we're getting THAT instead of a sleek, handsome villain: or a cute...

So far, this ride's exterior looks like Tiana's Giant Rotting Pile of Mulch. :depressed:

Apparently it IS happening in the Tree of Life. Deal.

Disney Legend Glynis Johns (Mrs. Banks in "Mary Poppins") Dies at 100

Sorry to read about Glynis Johns. She was great in Mary Poppins - well, everyone was great in that film (and that includes DVD and his attempt at a Cockney accent. I didn't care about that as a kid, and I don't care about it now). She added a sparkle and a warmth that made Mrs. Banks endearing...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Ever heard of Smaug, the dragon in the book The Hobbit? The dude talked. Dragons talk in many stories. That's hardly natural animal behavior (unless we're talking parrots, who mimic, not talk). And unicorns talk also, most notably in the excellent book The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle. And...

Ah, name calling. Evidence of a weak argument and a weak mind. Also, projecting. Take him away, Mickey!

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Cool beans, except I doubt that Disney would want to spend money on a Muppets' attraction in AK, given that their latest TV series was just cancelled after one season.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Well, AK was also going to include unicorns and dragons. Plus it has (had) a Yeti. They're just as fictional as Nick Wilde. What's the big deal?

    Doctor Who (BBC & Disney+ 2023)

Yeah, whatever, the new incarnation(s) aren't hitting it off with viewers: https://cosmicbook.news/doctor-who-christmas-special-ratings-ncuti-gatwa Excerpt: The ratings are the worst of the series for a Christmas Special and are on par with the worst-rated episodes of David Tennant’s career in...

    Doctor Who (BBC & Disney+ 2023)

Dr. Who has become Dr. Two. Who the heck wanted that? And Who Two is not a character, but a...statement. How very entertaining.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Just saw a video of Shanghai's Zootopia Land. We need it here. It's gorgeous, and the "Hot Pursuit" ride looks awesome. Even the merch is awesome. Nuts to Indiana Jones (it's dead) and Encanto (the kid who can talk to animals is no justification for an otherwise-irrelevant ride to be built in...

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

I liked it too. Its only weakness was Runt the pig. TOO fat, and most of his jokes didn't land. But otherwise, it is, as you say, a silly, fun movie, with lots of heart. AND it was a box-office hit, by the way. It was the Little movie that could - and did.

Has anyone ridden the Mermaid ride lately?

I beg to differ. Take a look at the video I posted above. People on the ride are mocking and laughing at the Ariel figure. They certainly noticed it was malfunctioning.

Has anyone ridden the Mermaid ride lately?

So it's poor maintenance, then? Good grief, do the suits in charge of WDW really believe that guests can't tell that Ariel's mouth isn't working, and how bad that looks? It's been a while...but didn't Iger once brag on a corporate phone call that he'd cut the maintenance budget for the parks...

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

If I may digress... I am absolutely delighted that the animated film "The Boy and the Heron" has apparently earned 12.8 million at the U.S. box office and debuted at number one. Why am I so delighted? Because it's a Hayao Miyazaki film - and Miyazaki created one of my favorite animated films of...
