    Expedition Everest effects status watch

It should be addressed that the rockwork around the structure itself is looking very filthy. It's all covered in "Florida rooftop grime" and a lot of it has turned black. It doesn't look like natural dirt, but I'm guessing Disney hopes it does and that is their excuse for not giving it a facelift.

News Hatbox Ghost coming to Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion

Not trying to be rude, but, tell me you haven't worked at Walt Disney World without telling me.

Unpopular opinion: the new lighting on Spaceship Earth is bad

Remember everyone - whenever someone posts something you don't agree with on WDWMagic, just pull the "you're adult, why are you caring so much about a theme park??" card even though you're also here, posting and caring about a theme park.

    Universal Studios new disability pass

The issue really isn't "which disabilities deserve the pass and which ones don't". It's that a staggering number of guests will go into Guest Relations/Guest Services, say they can't wait in line, and will just keep saying things and adding to their disabilities until they either say the right...

Villain Con (Minions) ride to replace Shrek 4-D (rumor)

The games in TSMM are at least engaging and challenging, and each game has a different technique. This just has you mindlessly shooting everything with no real goal or intensity.

Villain Con (Minions) ride to replace Shrek 4-D (rumor)

It's choppy phone games on the walls only you have a heavy gun instead of your finger. There's -some props but not much. The games are not fun. It's garbage.

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

I agree that it's all important. But the more the vast majority of Disney park fans focus on JUST the yeti and little else, the more it allows Disney to get away with maintaining things in this manner. This very thread was unfortunately a huge component to this hivemind mentality regarding this...

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

Absolutely. Tower of Terror is like 75% show and 25% thrill ride. Everest the opposite, 75% thrill ride and 25% show. Tower of Terror looking awful for years is a much bigger issue, but since it's a bunch of little problems and not one giant 25 foot one that everyone jokes about, people don't care.

Sadly, Joe's tweet didn't accomplish anything. Even in articles ABOUT THIS EXACT TWEET, people are still commenting on them how the mountain "needs to be dismantled to work on the yeti". They don't care, they don't read, they just want to continue to regurgitate this "fact" because "knowing" it...

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

I mean, the average person probably won't think about it, but it does lose some of the effect of being suspended up in the air and makes it more standard rollercoaster-ish. Also, the hair ties are collecting again. And it really bugs me that they didn't pressure wash and paint the snow at the...

Not really an effect, but it seems as though they now operate with the railings up on the second lift: It was like this on a recent visit for me as well. Before, the railing would only rise if the ride shut down.

    Spieling over ride audio

It's literally part of training for WDW attractions that you don't interrupt the show if it isn't a safety issue. Maybe that has changed in recent years? I don't go that much anymore. I'm not saying it NEVER happens. I believe I've possibly encountered it once on pirates? They certainly didn't...

    Spieling over ride audio

The reason Disney doesn't spiel about people having camera lights on is spieling about it spoils the ride for way more people than the offender does, especially spieling more than once about it. If you went to see a movie and it kept being interrupted by an employee saying "hey, stop spilling...

    Spieling over ride audio

This is a valid complaint OP. I have noticed it too, maybe not quite as much, but yes it is annoying when it happens. You failed to remember, though, that the current theme park enthusiast mantra is: Disney: criticize literally everything they do. Disney is dumb and can't do anything right...

News Expedition Everest refurbishment in 2022

Appalling, but not surprising that they did literally nothing to improve the ride visually other than sweep up the hair ties, a task that should have been done weekly all along. The entire top portion of the ride looks like absolute garbage. WDW refurbishments are such wasted opportunities, it's...

Race Through New York is good, actually

Rode again yesterday and they're still doing this. Picture having a bunch of theater spotlights pointed directly on you. It's weird, looks like crap, washes out the screen... I know it's a ride nobody considers "important" but it's baffling to ruin the miniscule sense of theatrics that the ride...

Race Through New York is good, actually

I also agree that the ride is okay, but: I noticed this too. It looks like crap and washes out the screen. They shut off during the ride, at least. It feels like a bunch of powerful spotlights are pointed at you and you can see how dirty the seats are.

The question was "why did they paint it to look like buildings rather than painting a rock pattern on it?" I, too, would like to know their reasoning.

The ride doesn't have any onboard audio, but there are speakers placed throughout the track. You can hear the sound you noticed in this video from yesterday! You can hear it at 1:37 in. The hiss before this sound effect was always there and is not a sound effect but the sound of the track...

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

The problem is that so many fans ONLY care about, and are ONLY aware of, the yeti. In reality, basically every major attraction could have its own thread like this, and there would be just as much if not more to report.
