    Letters from CA Adventure

I’m likely not the first or only person to post a photo of this, here are the letters that used to be outside the entrance to CA Adventure before the big refurb some years back. They are now at the entrance to Cal Expo in Sacramento.

What's the best WDW secret you know?

The explanation that was given to me was that it goes back to when Disney was buying up all the land and it was a family graveyard on personal property.

What's the best WDW secret you know?

There is a family graveyard with 4 above ground graves on the property. It's near Fort Wilderness and is not "off limits" to guests, but it also is not marked and isn't easy to get to unless you know how to find it.

    idea: retheme Soarin'

Exactly!! :sohappy: That, and the fact that when you first walk into the theater, you see this big giant movie screen. They could have hidden that from view until the attraction started and that would have created a much better illusion. Simpsons does that, as did Back to the Future.

    Horizons....

    Yep, exactly!

    Horizons....

How do you know it would have? Given Disney's "great track record" (insert sarcastic tone here) of continually updating their attractions, that's quite a lofty assumption. If that's the strongest point you can make in support of Horizons, then I think you've actually strengthened MY point. In...

    the state of JII

Its sad, especially for an attraction that is supposed to inspire imagination of all things.

    Horizons....

Oh I see you edited this post AFTER I already replied to it. Seems rather sneaky, but okay. In any event, Horizons wasn't a terrible attraction and if you read my post (instead of trying to read something between the lines that isn't there), I never said I didn't like it. But it was an...

    Horizons....

I don't recall prefacing it with the statement, "this is a fact and not my opinion". How exactly did I "state it as fact"? Wouldn't that be in how it was interpreted, rather than how it was stated? It was an evaluative statement not accompanied by sources, etc. How would anyone reasonably...

Does anyone else cry during Wishes?

The only Disney production that has ever made me cry was Old Yeller. I love a great fireworks show as much as the next person, and I think Disney is the undisputed master when it comes to putting them on. But make me cry?? No.

TTA - Old Spiel or New Spiel?

    Totally agree!

    Horizons....

It was an attraction at Epcot that people remember as better than it actually was. It has a cult following unlike any other as far as extinct attractions go, but that has more to do with the "bandwagon" mentality and less to do with the quality of the attraction itself.

What was you favorite original Epcot pavilion and why?

The Living Seas for me. I liked that you were immersed in it and could really go around and interact. With the others, you were still on a moving vehicle seeing it as an observer. With the Living Seas you were a participant. That's more along the lines of what Walt wanted the theme park...
