Sounds like this thing has sped up a lot and landfall is going to be a lot earlier than initially expected

These tornadoes are no joke either. These don't appear to be your quick spin tornadoes you typically see with landfalling hurricanes, these are basically supercell like tornadoes.

This storm is finally taking a beating....down to 130mph winds and 944mb

Those have some pretty strong hooks on them as well. The last few frames have shown lightning strikes within the eye again, which doesn't bode well.

Yeah, it has been undergoing an ERC since about 7am this morning. Hopefully it doesn't finish it any time soon and allow itself to regain strength. The winds are pretty narrow from what I can tell as well, but by going through the ERC, it will broaden the storm and push those winds further out...

Well that's certainly some good news! Still plenty of time, so hopefully it stays that way. (Just wanted to point out that there was something showing and that it wasn't Leslie)

One of the models yesterday showed another storm forming in the gulf, but it is 12 days out. I wouldn't worry about it right now.

9am update...still 155mph winds... Looks like we'll be getting hourly updates today from the NHC
