    Disney Crafting...

I absolutely love this room, it's incredible. If I walked into my child's school room and it looked like this I would be absolutely delighted. I think it's wonderful that you put so much of yourself in designing this room. Good job!

    Scooters

Sometimes it's very innocent. My son is autistic and cannot handle walking around the parks, it's too overwhelming and exhausting physically and emotionally for him. So, we push him around in a wheel chair and we have gotten a couple of looks when he gets out of it to get in line but we shrug...

Question about the GAC (guest assistance card)

I have twin boys on the autistic spectrum and this card has helped us enjoy our vacation much more easily. The CMs are very familiar with the card and were very kind to us. As for any looks, we got a few but shrugged it off. Don't let it get to you.

A little sick but extremely funny. The dogs are great especially Wall E eating Poker.

    Tearful moments in Disney films

I used to sing "Baby Mine" to my children when they were little and I still choke up when I hear it. My three boys are on the autistic spectrum and have had to deal with a lot of cruelty from other kids so the line "little one when you play, don't you mind what they say" really gets to me...

    Funniest/Funnest WDW Moment

The first time we went to WDW my twin boys were 7. After meeting Tigger and Pooh at DAK we hit the bathrooms. As we were finishing up and heading to the doors my son said "Tigger was really tall" and then as we were heading outside, passing people entering the bathroom, he said "And that was a...

    Most Disappointing Meal in WDW?

Well, they did this for us as well last year and it was a lifesaver. I have an autistic son who can't stay, even at the character meals, for an excessive amount of time and we had met everyone but Pooh who we adore. When I explained this to the waiter and the CM, they were extremely helpful...

    Wheelchair Apprehension

My son is autistic and walking long distances became a huge problem on our last trip so I rented a wheelchair for him and it was a great relief. Noone gave us a hard time at all. We did have the guest assistance card, if you needed one I'm sure you could get one with a note from your doctor...

A couple say visiting Disney World helps unlock their autistic son's closed world

Great article. I have an eleven year old autistic son and his twin has Asberger's Syndrome (also on the spectrum) and WDW really, truly is a magical place for them. I rarely see real joy in his eyes but it's very apparent when we're in the Magic Kingdom although he likes all the parks. I am...
