Unfortunately, the answer is "it depends". Supposedly lately they have been better about it in terms of letting us "epcot resort" people get up equal to those in the front of the park before rope drop. I will PM you over on the "other" board a link to a thread about this. hope it helps!

I know you would be there in time for the hyperspace hoopla event and the characters will be still be out and about, don't know what else though will be going on (for example, the parade is usually before noon).
