    Splash Mountain *long* refurb?

I visit both WDW and DL frequently, and I can confidently say that the AA's at DL's Splash are always in better shape than WDW's. I have no idea what the refurb is about, but I'd be disappointed if it's just for the que.

    1st Timer going to Disneyland

One more quick tip! If you're flying there, I'd suggest you book a flight to the nearby Orange County Airport (SNA). It's much closer to Disneyland than LAX, and much less crazy. And you can probably get a cheaper flight into that airport. Alot of first timers make the mistake of flying to LAX...

    1st Timer going to Disneyland

I think I can give you some advice, because just a few years ago I was in your shoes. I'm a Floridian who grew up on WDW, and in 2007 I decided to go to Disneyland as a "one time experience." Well... I loved it so much there, that I've been back 3 times since my first visit! Disneyland has 3...

    DLR advertising

It's just a matter of being wise with the advertising dollars. As some of you mentioned, the average potential visitor would not understand that Disneyland isn't just a smaller version of WDW. Well educated Disney nuts like us are in the minority. Why would the Disney corporation place a...

    Matterhorn to Receive New Bobsleds

Ever since the rumor of new sleds (with no lap seating) started, I've been a bit surprised at how many people I've seen complain about it. I don't find the lap seating to be the slightest bit comfortable, and will be happy to have my own seat. Plus, many people opt to sit separately anyway. I...

    Matterhorn to Receive New Bobsleds

I was told they plan to keep the height requirement the same, and that's why the new sleds will use seatbelts instead of lap bars. I guess it's tougher to keep a child secure under a lap bar than under a seatbelt.

    Pulp Fiction in the GMR?

Instead of an outlaw or mobster hijacking your tour bus, it could be taken over by "the gimp."

    Looking for a good Hotel

Nevermind. I found it on the web so I guess it's not torn down afterall.

    Looking for a good Hotel

Is the Residence Inn still there? I stayed there 4 years ago, but the last couple times I was in the area I'm pretty sure I walked out to where it used to be, and it's no longer there (torn down). I'm talking about the one that was on Katella and Disney Way, so maybe there's another one in the...

    Biergartan?

I've had lunch there 5 or 6 times and only once did I not see the band. I think you are more likely to miss them if you have an early lunch.

A Captain EO permit has been Filed

LOL that comment captures my sentiment perfectly.

A Captain EO permit has been Filed

I happened to be in Disneyland on the day it premiered (I mean... RE premiered) back in February and it drew pretty big crowds that week. But perhaps MJ is/was much more popular in the SoCal area since that's where he lived for many years, plus there's plenty of weirdos out there  For...

Is the Universe of Energy from the 90s the most accepted change in Future World?

For the record, I also miss the Living Seas. The hydrolaters were a bit cheesy, but overall "Seabase Alpha" had a really neat atmosphere.

Is the Universe of Energy from the 90s the most accepted change in Future World?

The Old version of UOE closed down when I was in about 4th grade, but I remember being incredibly bored by it as a child. I only went on it for the dinosaurs, and the rest put me to sleep. I'm not a big Ellen fan, but I enjoy the attempted humor and lighter feel of EEA. I wish I had a better...

If You Had Wings opened 38 years ago today

Great post! I was born in '84 so I'm too young to remember IYHW (though I did ride it as a toddler), but I absolutely loved Dream Flight, and miss it. As people have mentioned, SRS is a decent ride and it really brings out my competive arcade side, but seems a bit unnecessary now that we have...

    Planet Hollywood... still?

I love how DTD is like a time capsule for businesses that fail everywhere else. Most Planet Hollywoods around the country closed down 15 years ago, but that one is still apparently drawing crowds. And think about how long the Virgin Megastore lasted at DTD when it crashed and burned years ago...

    one man dream

Some people think I'm odd when I say this, but One Man's Dream is my favorite attraction at WDW. I never skip OMD, because the models are a must see for any true Disney geek, and it's very important for me to pay respects to the man who made it all happen. I hope they don't change much, but I...

Anyone else who loves Adventureland most?

I remember Tiki Room having attendance problems with the old show, but is it doing well now? I don't see this show often since it's so awful under its "new management," but I went last month on a crowded day and there was no line, and the people in the show didn't seem to enjoy it at all. 3...
