News Walt Disney World says goodbye to the final remnants of its COVID-19 safety protocols

Universal also has their merchandise pickup and resort delivery functions running. Disney STILL hasn't brought theirs back. Disney is starting to lag behind Universal in quality. Attendance increases are largely stable and expected, and for their first three decades, Disney handled them...

News Walt Disney World says goodbye to the final remnants of its COVID-19 safety protocols

This was honestly my biggest concern when I saw this news, and why I read this whole thread. The only gain from removing the signage is to give an illusion of being "back to normal." I hope they're not about to pressure cast to stop masking.

Our photo was sent to us- creepy......

If your first name is Jon, then it's probably not a big deal to you. If your first name is something more unique, and if you happen to be a girl, and especially if it shows your home town like Mikey just mentioned, that's SUPER creepy for any of us who've had experience with stalkers. (That's...

Our photo was sent to us- creepy......

It is definitely creepy. A control center in the app allowing guests to opt in/out of specific functions would solve the problem....people who like having their name displayed for hundreds of strangers to see could slide the button over to yes for that function, and people who value privacy...

What's your party size threshold for traveling to and touring WDW for say 7 nights.

My absolute max for immediate travel party is 4, but I prefer 2 or just me by myself. I often make trips with more people total and we split up for most of the time and meet up for specific events or an occasional meal. When friends ask me for recommendations about traveling in a larger group...

Got Disney + ? What was the FIRST thing you chose to watch?

A Bug's Life. The best Pixar movie ever needs a little numbers love. 💙

Has Disney Pricing Increases/Atmosphere Cuts Altered YOUR FAMILIES WDW Attendance?

Entertainment cuts had already dropped us from a 4 times a year annual pass family to a one trip every couple of years family. The price increases would have cut us out completely about 4 or 5 years ago, if we weren't eligible for Military Salute. With those, we still sort of feel like we're...

Am I Alone... WDW Food is BAD

Boma is still pretty good, but otherwise, most of the fabulous meals that I'd still be thinking about when I was back to real life are gone now. Ohana got crappy, Backlot Express lost the Grilled Veggie sandwich, Liberty Inn dropped the portobello burger with the tiny grapes. Turn the clock...

    Best Extinct WDW Foods

I wouldn't be surprised if the level of abuse has ramped up in recent years as a side effect of the price increases, but some level of abuse is going to happen anywhere--even a McDonald's will have some customers stock up on ketchup and napkins for home from time to time. It's a managerial...

Just curious to hear from others... what do you bring into the parks and what do you bring it in? crossbody, backapck, pockets?

I wear jeans with a cellphone wallet attached to my belt. The wallet has my cards, money, and phone, my pockets have my chapstick, ibuprofen supply, & battery packs. I have a little carabiner attached to my hat by the tag, so I can pull it off and hang it off a belt loop inside the buildings...

    Spending Less with Disney

I used to go to WDW an average of 2-3 weeks per year. Now it's more like once every 2-3 years, and since my last trip (Oct 2017), I haven't really felt the itch to go back. Disney's been building new things, sure, but hemorrhaging magic at the same time. I've had a Six Flags pass for the past...

    Top 5 Rides/Attractions at WDW

    1. Rock n Roller Coaster 2. Expedition Everest 3. Tower of Terror 4. Pirates of the Caribbean 5. Haunted Mansion Mad Tea Party didn't make the list, but it's special to me.

Are you a WDW loyalist or another type?

If I come to Florida and do only one thing, it's Halloween Horror Nights. I would have called myself a WDW loyalist 15 years ago, when guest experience was an obvious priority for parks management. Now I'm just as likely to use my vacation days for places outside of Orlando. I've gotten Six...

Mandatory “Room Check” - Take the poll...

It's not in the slightest a necessary precaution. It's a ridiculous byproduct of the human brain's failure to understand and assess risk. I won't stay at any resort that does this.

Fountain & Bottled Drink, Popcorn, Pretzel, and Other Snack Item Prices Exponentially

Walt Disney's business model was the exact opposite of that: "Do a good job. You don't have to worry about the money; it will take care of itself. Just do your best work — then try to trump it." Most of us became emotionally invested during time periods when the company was following his lead.

I like My Disney Experience but definitely want to vent about fast passes. Anyone with me?

Earlier in this thread I mentioned that I was making my first trip to Disneyland and happy to be back to same-day fastpasses, so now that I'm back from that trip I wanted to update with that experience.... It was FANTASTIC! I chose to pay the $10 per day to do Maxpass, which included all my...

Navi River Journey - What is the story?

I don't have anything against the ride....I thought it was nice, but not anything I'd be super-sad to miss on future trips. But I just have to ask...am I the only one who felt like I was riding ET?

I like My Disney Experience but definitely want to vent about fast passes. Anyone with me?

I can't stand FP+. In my experience the wait times at the parks are back to as bad as they were before fastpass existed at all. You can't get two fastpasses for the same attraction, can't get a fastpass for the two best attractions in the tiered parks, and can't get hardly anything if you're...

Do you think you would be a Disney fan if your first time was recently?

But how much of that is due to quality, and how much is due to the reputation the park earned over the past few decades but isn't necessarily living up to now? Obviously I don't have the means to survey a representative sample or anything, but I know several sets of people who've come back from...
