News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Some of Disney's deluxe resorts have been rated only 3 diamonds by AAA over the years. Some are 4 diamond, including GF. What I've heard is GF was told they would need a special training program for cast members there to qualify for 5 diamond, lol. To be fair, V&A does get 5 diamond as a...

News Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

The only thing that comes to mind with this is hearing Ms. Piggy scream "Oh Kermieeeeee!" while you're turning upside down at 40mph, lol.

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

The problem would be, the type of theming being talked about here would make the building costs much higher than a standard hotel. And so to preserve the high margins that companies like, the pricing would have to be pretty high, probably $1000+ per night, at least at first. So I bet that's why...

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Let's see, the next headline will read "Former development manager at Marriott timeshares now confirmed as new VP of DVC Resort Development" 😆

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Exactly what I was thinking. This won't be for the rich who don't care, this will be for the people who want to say they bought so and so at Disney and maxing out their credit cards to do it, the lifestylers. But I think even they are starting to realize they're being taken advantage of.

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Reflections doesn't sound interesting to me at all, and I'm not sure what other add-ons they can build before 2042. The only deluxe without a DVC side now is Yacht Club, and that's probably because of space available and the convention center. I guess we could get the rumored replacement of the...

News New Polynesian Resort DVC villas building to open 2024

I still think a large fountain area with lots of exotic plants and flowers would be a nice nod to the original Poly lobby.

WDW wins real estate tax law suite

To offset any negative publicity (Disney takes money from school district suing over property taxes - could be a headline for example), Disney could agree to spread out the refund over a number of years on future assessments, instead of demanding a lump sum. That's what I would do if I were Disney.

    Why not remove Cinderella's Castle

Wait, the bottom half of the castle is green now? That looks awful. Green and pink really aren't castle colors...

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

Disney just doesn't want to spend the money to close it down and do a permanent fix. Grade of C- for a nice coaster but refuses to fix the headliner animatronic.

What Happens if you Don't Pay

This is something I've been wondering too. My situation was a little different though, in that I was financing, got laid off in 2015, and then Disney offered to have me.just sign the contract back to them with no more owed, instead of going through a foreclosure. It probably made a difference...

    “Project S” New Resort

Also the evening mixer (non alcoholic, but who are we kidding, the rehab folks are gonna sneak in booze) is at 8pm, and is a separately ticketed event for $105 per person, plus taxes and gratuities. Oops folks! Almost forgot! It's being held in the Pocahontas & Friends Lounge, which is...

Poll: For those who curbed visits or stopped visiting Disney Parks, what are your top reasons?

Yes, remember the days when each resort had its own refillable mug with that resort logo on it? People collected those. And lots of resort specific merchandise also. The shops used to have different merchandise depending where the shop was- now it's mostly the same stuff in all the park shops...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Myself, I looked at buying another pass today, after not going the past few years. And realized, nope, Disney has not earned my business back, and actually is worse. Put the kibosh on that idea quick.

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

I'm still not convinced that he's ever leaving unless forced to by the board or his health, and the damage already done would take a long time to reverse.

    When will the intervention come?

You are correct in that the rooms/resorts themselves, if picked up and plopped down anywhere else, would not be able to charge those prices. The main reason, especially for the deluxe resorts on the monorail or walking distance to a park, is the location. People were willing to pay a very...

    Cabins at FW sales thread

Don't forget some of the other resorts also expire in 2042. I believe Boardwalk and Beach Club Villas are among those. They only have 18 years left, and still selling for premium pricing, lol.
