Go to the WDW online calander, then click on the individual dates. By choosing the park, the calander will tell you the times for parades and fireworks.

If there are two showings that night, make sure you go to the second showing. The second showing gets you much closer to the center, because there aren't near as many people. You probably won't have to wait as long either.

The snake probably didn't move because there weren't enough cast to man the snake. I've seen the dragon freeze up two times, and both times Mickey ran in from the side. So I'm assuming that whenever the dragon locks up, they won't let Mickey "appear" for safety reasons.

I went through the single rider line, and it took me about 20 minutes, just like the wait time board predicted. There were pleny of Standby and Fastpass coming in as well, and they were running all four centrifuges.
