Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Given your job, I'm curious to know what you think about this....my wife and I both had COVID, as did my younger son. We all had symptoms. My fever got over 100 maybe 2-3 times the entire time I was sick...it felt like 103, but it was mostly around 99.5 per the thermometer. My wife had a...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I tested positive for this. I asked the same question...the way you get false positives is if they mix up your tests with someone else. But the test itself isolates for one thing only...if you get a positive, you're positive. On the other hand, my wife and son both tested negative despite...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

There were protests in places like NYC and Boston that are seeing numbers go down....it appears that bars are a major problem, though.

    Splash Mountain re-theme announced

I rode it and loved it. I didn't recognize it was offending people. If it is, then I have no problem with Disney making this decision. For Disney, it's a business decision, and they made it with all the implications that come with that. They decided it was worth whatever negatives there were...

    Splash Mountain re-theme announced

I've never seen "Princess and the Frog", so I definitely need to. I've heard great things about it. I enjoyed Splash Mountain, but I'm fine with the change. I'd rather err towards not offending people and inclusion...even when it's about something more meaningful than a theme park attraction.

News Disney Park Pass System announced for Walt Disney World theme park reservations

Yeah, I get that. I'm a DVCer. Our friends aren't, but rented points at OKW. So they have a Disney reservation, but no tickets. They didn't know they'd need park reservations at the time they made their hotel reservations. I just can't imagine at this point making a hotel reservation, if...

News Disney Park Pass System announced for Walt Disney World theme park reservations

I have to say, this part baffles me. My friends have reservations for December at Old Key West after having their June trip cancelled. They didn't buy tickets at that time. They have an on-site reservation, no tickets, and they're not certain they'll be able to even get a reservation into the...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Oh, no...it's fine. That's just surge/overflow. You guys are such worriers. If you need an ICU room (for any reason) and they can't give you one, no problem...they'll just put you in a room that's not ICU ready. No biggie.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Please re-read my post. I didn't say they have 0 excess capacity...I said we don't have a lot. And when your ICU beds are at 97% full, there's not much more to go.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Of course the majority are non-covid. That's not really the issue...the issue is what COVID is taking is pushing hard at very thin margins. We don't have a lot of excess capacity built into the system, because that's not profitable. So whether you have COVID or not, if you need an ICU bed...

The Texas Medical Center - the largest medical complex in the world - is reporting that 97% of their ICU beds are occupied. They are typically between 70-80% occupied.

News Disney Park Pass System announced for Walt Disney World theme park reservations

So here's a pickle...we have friends who have a room reserved for December after we got pushed out of a trip with them in June. I bought my tickets before the park was closed...they had not purchased their tickets yet. Despite having a room reservation, they're being told they can't purchase...
