    Train Track behind Animal Kindom

Gotcha -- I thought you'd meant that it was inaccurate with respect to the railroad and Conservation Station. :)

    Train Track behind Animal Kindom

Expedition Everest is there, as well. It's not finished, but it's represented pretty obviously. Perhaps you're looking in the wrong spot? From the initial link, move to the right and you can clearly see the mountain. The large plot next to the railroad tracks has been dirt covered for years.

    Train Track behind Animal Kindom

What's wrong with the photograph? It's all accurate and up to date. Conservation Station is above the station, across the canal. You can see that the walkway from the station to it is surrounded by heavy brush and trees, unlike the rest of the area.

Management about to change Expedition Everest

Disney has a year's worth of ride capacity data to sort through regarding this attraction. If they are genuinely considering bringing another train into regular service, you can bet that they've looked at that data and feel that there's a benefit. There's no other reason why they'd do it and...

    Toy Story Mania Layout

A ride that is the same or similar is also being installed in the Disney Studios.

Disney, GE, others face patent suit

The folks at Knoebel's have built two of their own coasters, speaking generally. There're a handful of other instances of similar things happening, but it's certainly not the norm.

    New Disneyland Hotel! and more

Disney cares about Harbor Blvd. only insofar as its hotel rooms help to keep people in its parks. If they add enough rooms to the property, they could easily close the Harbor Blvd. entrance and at very little cost to themselves. Ignoring good will, ideally Disney wants to put as many hotels...

    New Disneyland Hotel! and more

Interesting talk about the hotel occupying the space that now acts as a hub for outside transportation. I'm curious as to where and how will they relocate the dropoff for the Anaheim Rapid Transit system, if at all, and if they'd go so far as to eliminate access to the property from Harbor...

    Wish me luck. . .

Congratulations :) Really, someday, I'm going to just move to California and harass someone until they give me a job there.

    Epcot / Germany River Ride

Disney didn't literally sell the pavilions to the namesake countries -- they simply convinced them that being represented in the World Showcase was a valuable investment in tourism and asked that such countries contribute some or all of the capital required to build the pavilion.

    A plea for creativity! :)

I don't work in the industry, so I can't speak authoritatively about what it takes to get in and get hired, but my experience has been that creative positions require a portfolio demonstrating your work. Entertainment design is, first and foremost, a visual medium and so anyone trying to work...

    Attraction-inspired art

These models were all made in SketchUp. It offers a few different display options that allow you to make things appear as if they were hand-drawn. There are plug-ins available as well that offer more realistic rendering options that I don't have available to me. I've had SketchUp for about...

    Attraction-inspired art

I work a lot as a designer of mechanical components and use parametric CAD modeling software for almost all of my work. There're a few different platforms that are popular and so I've been spending time throughout the fall teaching myself to better use some software that I didn't have a lot of...

    A plea for creativity! :)

If the worst you know of oppression and discrimination is that someone doesn't like what you're doing on the internet, consider yourself to be very fortunate. I think there're valuable lessons to be learned in master planning that may be addressed by the typical efforts to recreate Disneyland...

    Cartoons/Toylines into Movies

As I recall, Fraggle Rock is being developed into a feature length movie, though I don't know if it's computer-generated or live-action or some combination of the two.

    A plea for creativity! :)

I don't know where I'm going with this except to say that I've wanted to write for a while now about something intangible that, even now, I can't quite define. Why is there such a dearth of creative, original ideas created by people that claim to have such passion for the work of folks like...

New construction at Disney's Animal Kingdom?

The safari extends from the service road shown to the left, inside the park limit, upward to the canal or other body of water somewhat short of the upper limit, over to the railroad tracks on the right. On its bottom, it borders Harambe, which is the cluster of buildings just across Discovery...

Miceage 12/5 Kevin Yee:Declining by Degrees

I've been saying this for quite some time. Consider that, if Kevin were not writing articles that talked quite so much about how the parks have fallen into disrepair or how the standards have dropped, there'd be no incentive for his readers to buy books he's written about how things used to be...
