News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

They raised the bid by $3.2B. That's a big difference from the $20B that Comcast drove up the price for Disney to purchase 21CF. You seem to gloss over the $20B premium paid on top of the original deal as it was insignificant. I'm not sure how you get $40B from divestitures when it seemed to...

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

So that Bob could overpay by $20B. This was personal for Bob and he was not going to let Brian steal the largest deal of his career. Brian knew that and played Bob to over pay. Other than the 1/3 of Hulu from Fox can you let me know what they got that is currently profitable for them and...

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

This dates back to before the Hulu buyout. This was during the bidding war for 21CF where Disney overpaid by close to $20+B.

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

The carriage deal with Charter resulted in a higher number of subscribers to D+. (6M) Albeit as wholesale subscriber accounts with a much lower ARPU. How much more did Rupert get for 21CF because Brian played Iger’s ego?

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

Hulu is the only reason why Disney PVOD showed a $350M gain. The success sure isn't coming from D+ directly. The main problem Disney has, is that they can not control content cost and if Iger's hot mic moment comment at the last earning call is true, their AVOD numbers are disappointing at...

    Soarin' new ending ?

They should have taken the Space 220 Space elevator method of just rendering a cloud located conveniently over future world, or whatever nonsense they call it now.

    Soarin' new ending ?

I’m just glad they didn’t resort to having Groot or Elsa or Moana fart around the last scene, you know because of corporate franchise IP synergy and what not.

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

NBCUniversal/Spinco apparently setup a framework to allow seamless content integration between the various properties even after they've left the NBCUniversal umbrella, so I'm sure Disney can figure out content creation and licensing rights post sale.

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

The difference is that the 21CF acquisition wasn't a fire sale. If anything they significantly overpaid for the whole only to have Disney give the various parts away later. This is interesting because Comcast is lumping in well known assets (CNBC, USA, MSNBC, etc.) in. Yes they may be...

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Over the years I've had to change plans for hard ticket events and have never had an issue getting a full refund or having the ticket moved to another date, even it was "sold out". Again, the key is to be respectful and polite to the CM you are interfacing with. (Not that you should ever not...

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

If you visit guest services in person or call Disney directly and act like a decent human being towards the CM, anything that is "non-refundable" magically can become refundable.

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

I thought the same until Disney moved to a 2 hour cancellation window. While people's plans shift and that likely has some impact into availability, it is my understanding that the inventory is added to the system the closer you get to day of. Doing a quick search of ADRs comparing Friday...

FOMO. It's the same reason why people make ADRs 60 days out, when the majority of TS restaurants can be picked up 2 days out when they drop additional capacity.

News New Event Space and Luxury Rooms Coming to Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin by Summer 2026

The only thing I can think of, is that they can’t be competitive. I’ve been to several trade shows and corporate expos in central Florida and none have been on property. The main reason given is that others offer more for less and if people really want to visit Disney on their own time, then...
