    News Roy O. Disney overhaul

Is there any major differences between the old and new boilers? Also I heard that Strasburg was the one who built the new ones, so I want to make sure that’s correct.

    News Roy O. Disney overhaul

I’m still finding it stupid that they have to close the railroad again after only two years open, but if it’s what they have to do it’s what they have to do. Meanwhile I’m still not prepared to mourn for the Liberty Belle Riverboat. I’m going to miss the whistle exchange between the two steam...

Welp, thanks to the video you posted on Walter's page, the two twins no longer sound alike anymore.

The NOS fire also contributed to the two train operation after the signals died as a result.

    News Roger E. Broggie overhaul

Correct. The Liberty Belle riverboat and the Roger E. Broggie locomotive did the bell swap, not the Lilly Belle locomotive. I know, the Liberty Belle and Lilly Belle names can be confusing…

    News Roy O. Disney overhaul

Funny how Roy's second concept art has him with the smokestack that ultimately was placed onto Walter.

I actually now wonder if the bell on the Liberty Belle was Roger’s original bell before the swap. I know that there was a bell swap since Roger hated the old bell on the locomotive.

So then I would assume the 4-4-0 ultimately would have been Lilly Belle unless there was another name planned at the time.

    News Roy O. Disney overhaul

I still read in a book by David Leaphart (Walt Disney World Railroads Part 3: Yucatan Jewels) that says that the 4-4-0 didn’t have a name until after Roy O. Disney passed away, as Roy didn’t want his name on any of the locomotives. That info could have changed, however; this info comes from that...

    News Roy O. Disney overhaul

If I remember correctly, Roy didn’t get named until after Roy passed away.

Six Flags Over Georgia uses diesel hydraulic power. But I think the drive wheels on the locomotive are still active, similar to what you said, unlike most other steam outlines where the tender is pushing the locomotive.

The other three locomotive were given eagles upon their return, so I don't see why Roy won't get one after he's done. Lilly, however, didn't get an eagle upon her return in 2016; it was later applied in mid-2017.

    News Roger E. Broggie overhaul

This now makes me wonder how they’re gonna do the behind the scenes tour once that starts up again. However I don’t see too much changes.

    News Roger E. Broggie overhaul

At this rate as long as these are still steam powered I don’t mind the upgrades. It still hurts to see steam locomotives be converted to diesel power; Six Flags Over Georgia and PortAventura in Spain did such in 2005 and the 2010s, respectively.

    News Roger E. Broggie overhaul

Just remember that this was from back when the train was on display at Main Street. I hope they fixed the mess prior to reopening but I haven’t found any good pics.

I guess we will have to figure out where it goes on Roy when he returns then…hopefully not too awkward.
