Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

Buying at 7 and getting only 3 is nearly impossible unless you're just not using Genie+ at all. And your 3 guaranteed selections with the new system are potentially a lot less valuable to begin with given tiering.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

It was just a thing that they sometimes did in the 70s and 80s. It's not some idea they came up with exclusively for EPCOT. It's just never been updated. As for the rationale, not sure. Maybe sound dampening?

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I mean the extended evening hours most Mondays and Wednesdays.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I mean, they have them for the subset of guests they like on specific days of the week, which I think is probably satisfying for the non-captive audience they want to re-attract.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Frankly, while I’d hope for more, even an airport food court would be better as long as it looked like it came from the last two decades.

News New Polynesian Resort DVC villas building to open 2024

Because for many, that is the entire draw. You don’t have to rent a car, you don’t have to sit in traffic, you don’t have to think about how to get from here to there, you don’t have to trek across a searing expanse of asphalt. Additionally, you can offer older children a degree of freedom of...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

When all of the new things are ILL or VQ, the valuable multipass things will obviously follow this trend.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Race, age, and background are all discrete things, so I’m not really sure how it’s contradictory. You can of course disagree with the notion that representation is necessary, but I don’t think there’s anything fundamentally wrong with the sentence.

Rumor What is everyone’s confidence level that a Villain’s land will happen?

It already dead-ends at Thunder Mountain. Adding another attraction where Coco would likely get added doesn't change traffic flow significantly.

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

I mean … That’s how it was for FastPass+, which this functionally emulates. If you can plan out 5 attractions between 3 multipasses and 2 ILLs, you’re naturally going to have to be eating into inventory much farther into the day than you’re currently encouraged to with Genie+. And because you’re...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

The attractions are all great, but the interior is terrible. It’s so out of date and void of any unifying design that almost nothing could make it worse.

Exhibit for Shanghai’s New Zootopia Land Coming to the China Pavilion

The Chinese government is a stakeholder in Shanghai Disney. They may have more interest in attracting tourism than displaying an artifact or two. It might be aesthetically tacky, but it also might be more desirable and economically “helpful” to the pavilion’s host than replacing it with a Ming vase.

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

I’m not angry as I never bought Genie+ anyway and managed without it. I’m just expressing that I don’t think it’ll be the improvement people imagined (and inexplicably begged for because they didn’t want to be roused at 7am or whatever).

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

You can see what is available for your three picks … and then show up to find that the service is basically unusable beyond that, which is what could easily happen with FastPass+ in ye olden days, except that it wasn’t worth stressing about because it was free.

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

I still think anyone believing this will actually be better than Genie+ is horribly mistaken. This was only acceptable when it was a free service. Pre-booking potentially wiping out the value of a day-of or non-resort purchase of the service is going to be a train wreck.

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

I think it looks good, but I am not exactly sure what about it is groundbreaking. It’s the same mono-IP land strategy x4. The IP just happens to be more compelling than what they’ve had access to in the past.

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

Yes, but certain attractions use a mix of effects that tend to look neglected as they age no matter how well cared for. In Three Caballeros, you have poor quality screens, live video that is very clearly out of date, and late-add animatronics that have never matched the portrayal of the same...

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

I don't think people would care that much about Coco if they just made Three Caballeros better. Coco is just viewed as an opportunity to revise the existing ride since WDW seems largely allergic to sweeping enhancements for whatever reason.

    News Morocco Pavilion redevelopment

Enoteca Castello also looked overly dark when originally repainted a couple years ago and now fits in fine, IMO.
