    Another “Save Disney” Campaign?

Looking like Chapek is saving Disney himself with these earnings. Smashed across the board and Genie+ is obviously working out extremely well. Streaming growing on track as well…

Disney's Next Acquisition Speculation / Discussion

Don’t be intentionally misleading. You know why Disney’s revenue was under Sony’s. That won’t be the case going forward.

Disney's Next Acquisition Speculation / Discussion

Sony’s entertainment assets are dwarfed by Disney’s. And parks are a 25-30b yearly revenue machine when everything returns to normal. And gaming and electronics are a fairly low margin business unless you’re Apple and can apply a massive brand premium.

Disney's Next Acquisition Speculation / Discussion

Once Disney is firing at all cylinders it’s revenue will escalate beyond 100b which is a bit more than Sony’s. The only company that could realistically buy Disney is Apple.

    Who replaces Chapek?

The value that Chapek brings to Disney in a time like this is invaluable. The dude doesn’t give a damn about what people think. He will push the company through its roughest patches better than anyone can.

    Who replaces Chapek?

Chapek will be around for a few years still…but I think it will be Peter Rice. It would be interesting if he became the CEO. Would echo Iger who became CEO after coming over from ABC/Capital Cities. Rice has run the best television production unit over the last 10 years in fox.

Looks like Legendary is up for sale. That’d be a nice production engine for tv and film and comes with a nice library as well.

Disney's Next Acquisition Speculation / Discussion

Disney is not mentioned as a buyer because people don’t think they’ll legally allowed to after Fox. Many people assume Fox was bought in its entirety. Disney purchased certain assets. That left them with the ability to buy more - which they certainly will in the years to come. I think it’ll be...

Disney's Next Acquisition Speculation / Discussion

Disney likely won’t even attempt to buy another domestic studio for another few years. They don’t need to as they’ve already achieved the scale needed to be a dominant streaming presence. And while this action by Biden might scare off any mergers in the short term, eventually a new admin will be...

Disney's Next Acquisition Speculation / Discussion

A purchase of Sony would be the best fit in my opinion, but they will have to spend a pretty penny so they’ll have to wait a while. I dont think you can realistically just buy Sony pictures. They’d have to buy Sony Entertainment with the tv studio and music division as well

Why Disney should buy the Sunday Ticket Rights.

They got a fantastic deal compared to the other guys for games rights, but the economics around Sunday Ticket are difficult to get around. The truth is, the nfl likely isn’t going to get anywhere near what DTV paid years ago. That’s why they decided to opt out of their early termination option a...

Hulu, how much does Disney actually own?

Under the contract, should Disney cover all the expenses of Hulu, Comcast’s share diluted from 33% to a minimum of 21%. It can not go under that no matter how much Disney funds.
