    Dixie Stampede has Closed

Sorry, but I have to call BS on that.

    Dixie Stampede has Closed

Very sad that all these people abruptly lost their jobs. The article states that "the decision to close had nothing to do with a lack of customer interest", so I assume they were given a cash offer on the property that they just couldn't pass up. I'm sure Dolly and crew will build another one...

    Spectromagic spectromen?

I love SpectroMagic and would hate to see it go away...atleast right now. I consider it to be as classic as the Main Street Electrical Parade, and it lasted for 20+ years. As a child I can still remember being fascinated with Spectro...and no, as a kid the masks did not freak me out. Maybe...

    Disney Announcement to come soon

There actually is a large resort being built there by some former Disney executives, but the Walt Disney Company itself is not involved. Its called the "Pigeon Falls Village Resort". However, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney did officially build something around there like a hotel or water...

    EPCOT to revive old logo!

That's actually pretty good. However I have to agree with some other posts a few pages back that reinstating the exact logo from 1982 would be ridiculous...that "80s futuristic" font is so dated now it looks like a joke. I mean it has sentimental value of course, however now it would...

    Splash Mountain Rating

AA = Audio Animatronics (Robotic characters found in Disney rides) Anyway, Splash Mountain is one of my all time favorite Disney rides. It's the best at the Magic Kingdom.

    Extraterrorestrial "ride"

Disney does own the rights to use Alien. It just never has outside of the Great Movie Ride. Back in the early 1980s, the Imagineers were planning on building a dark-ride attraction at Disneyland themed around the original Alien movie. It involved guests hunting down the aliens aboard...

Liberty Square Riverboat Rehab Extended until SPRING 06

Since the subject of the switch and the old riverboats came up, I found this photo of the Richard F. Irvine docked at Big Thunder Mountain (under construction) in 1979: http://coastertown.com/Disney/BTMC/BTMC011.htm It was obviously taken from the passing Admiral Joe Fowler. Apparently...

    French Quarter vs. Riverside

I like Riverside better. The resort itself is beautiful, plus it feels much more relaxed and layed back. (Wish they would have kept the Dixie Landings name!) Of course French Quarter is still nice too...

Isn't it well past time for new parades?

I personally hope SpectroMagic lasts as long as the Main Street Electrical Parade did...Its just as popular now as it was in 1991. SpectroMagic is one of the things that comes to mind when I think of the Magic Kingdom. BTW, I love the old WDW logo on the SM title float. For...

    Jaws seasonal opening

I feel the general public flocks to Jaws more so than other attractions. It's what the park has been known for since the 90s. When people think of USF, they think of Jaws. Here outside of Florida, if you ask somebody about the Mummy ride at Universal Studios they won't know what you are...

Something I don't understand about Hong Kong Disney

The pathways are huge. Look at the various photos around the net. I'm sure that contributes greatly to the park's capacity.

What will they do about the carriage tracks?

Post Abandoned Disney Ideas you know

I'll add one of the most infamous canned projects, The Disney's America historical theme park that was to be built in Virginia near Washington DC during the mid-90s. A lot of mindless opposition occurred against the park, so Disney eventually cancelled it.

    Possible Refurb of the Contemporary

I'm one of the people that enjoy the Contemporary's retro-modern feel. I love the monorail coming through the 4th floor and the resturant next to the tracks. And the giant mural also in that area. If they ever remodel it, I hope they try to keep some of the old atmosphere.

Why no Frontierland at Hong Kong Disneyland?

Just wondering, why was Frontierland not included in to HKDL? I've always considered it a major part of the Disneyland experience, so I was quite disappointed that it was not in the final design. Any explanations?

    Add trains instead of Monorails.

I'm sure Steam Trains cost MUCH more to maintain than the Monorails, which in the end is probably why this idea wouln't work. Now, if the trains were pulled by electric locomotives, or if it was something like a high speed light-rail train, then I could see it as a feasable alternative to the...

    Biggest Imagineering Screw-ups!

The design of Animal Kingdom. It's got to be the most confusing park layout I've ever seen. Sure, it looks simple on the guide map, but when you're actually in the park... Also, they should have built some sort of transportation around AK. The boats where nice, until they closed them for some...
