We just made the switch to AKL Standard Room and we are going to request an obstructed view of the Savannah. How have all of you gone about doing this? Putting the request in early or doing so at check-in? Essentially what's the safe route with of course being nice and courteous to the concierge...

So all we have to do is ask at the front desk? Any ideas of somehow getting it done beforehand to reserve it ahead of time? Just wondering because this is amazing.

I see your point. Just a quick question, have you ever stayed at the Yacht or Beach Club resorts?

I have stayed at AKL about 8 times now. 7 times in Savannah and 1 time with a Standard Room. I would definitely 100% recommend a Savannah room otherwise I would advise to stay at another location. Standard rooms usually overlook the parking lot.

It's a nice idea but I would say no. Don't get caught in the trap at staying at AKL unless you have a view of the savannas!

You are right. Over a week stay you have more time on your hands vs. a 5 day there is less time of course. Being walking distance to two parks therefore is something that you can't pass up.

This sounds like a lovely idea, I definitely did that once before when I was young. I'll have to do it again now that I am an adult lol!

At the moment we booked for about $550 for the Beach Club Resort. But to be fair, isn't it always like that? We're going April 29-May 4.

We're staying at the beach club in April/May 2020 so thankfully the refurbishment will be done by then.

Update! We took a standard room in the Beach Club Resort for a 5 night 6 day trip! In the end of day Beach Club was surprisingly $20 cheaper per night than the Yacht Club! Now comes the hard part, paying off the vacation before we get to it lol. Now we need some restaurant recommendations. We...

It could use another ride, perhaps in Asia or in Africa to try and get crowds away from Avatar until after they finish Epcot and HS upgrades. However, AK needs more than one attraction and Disney is already upgrading 3 parks right now. If they do anything in AK it will be one more ride for now...
