    Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree

On 80s/early 90s DL trips with the family when I was a kid we hardly ate any meals in the park as my parents were very cost conscience. Hungry Bear was one of the few places we'd eat at, so I have fond memories of their burgers from that period. Otherwise I can't say it's been all that big of a...

The Fabelmans is excellent, and while I didn't like it as much as the 1961 film his West Side Story has some wonderful sequences and camera work.

News Coco Boat Ride Coming to Disney California Adventure

In any case, they have to be preparing to break ground on EGW no later than June 2025 by my estimate, so we're likely to get a big update on that plan soon. That could also provide updated plans for the Backlot one way or another.

News Coco Boat Ride Coming to Disney California Adventure

That would be pretty cool. I know most dislike it, but I'd be a bit bummed to lose Goofy's Sky School. It's basically the only DCA ride that is between all ages and the thrill rides.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Any extensive changes/additions would obviously be after the Mando & Grogu movie and Falcon ride update in 2026, obviously. As you say that would dictate where to move forward with the land, but really they have nearly 50 years of evidence for what stories and characters really sustain among the...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Bringing over the land update theories/suggestions conversation that evolved in the Avatar thread. One additional thought I had is that I wonder if any changes at Disneyland in regards to the theming of SWGA is a TDA specific reaction to the failed SW hotel. That hotel stole things originally...

Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

Giving Mediatv1 the benefit of the doubt, such changes would hopefully be the result of some actual soul searching after the hotel failure. But we should probably move any further discussion of this to its proper thread.

Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

It's not even the land that's the problem as much as it is the overall atmosphere. Bring in SW music, get rid of the era restriction with characters, maybe do a little spit and polish here and there to have more Easter Eggs from the OT and PT and that should take care of the land part. Make the...

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

The problem I see with Monstropolis is that it doesn't have as strong of a draw outside the rides. Restaurants, shops and land theming for Avatar seems far more likely to engage the average guest if the land in Florida is any indication.

I mean, those relying on the sign will find out it's food and not a ride in 10 seconds, so not a big deal.

Walt Disney – A Magical Life

And if they do know him they know him as a Nazi sympathizer whose frozen head is in a jar, two outrageous concepts that have grown because of SNL, Family Guy, and similar outlets with such jokes.

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

I could see them doing a revised exhibit in the Animation building that adds Avatar motion capture animation as a talking point, in particular if they frame the Avatar experience as a "backlot stage" when you're on Hollywood Boulevard outside the land's entrance.

News Red Car Trolley to close in early 2025

Problem with Disneyland getting their DLF expansion first is they still have Tomorrowland/Motorboat/FL Theater area they could refurbish/repurpose first.

News Red Car Trolley to close in early 2025

Can't say I'm too surprised. In addition to the Avengers ride construction removing the Trolley's backstage barn, I suspect the eventual Avatar construction and subsequent crowds when it opens would make the operation of the Trolley difficult. They already have the history of the Trolley in...

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

You know, I always seem to forget that the shuttle drop off area is also gained by the theme park with this plan. Allows them to push the new show building and/or restaurant slightly closer to Harbor than the current footprint.

Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

Using different characters to define the intensity level of the ride would make sense as well.

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

Backlot area + bus depot is 7 acres, about the size of the Florida Pandora, including ride and restaurant buildings. They wouldn't need to touch the Hyperion, Philharmagic, Animation buildings or the street/trolley, though I could see them wanting to use the Philharmagic space for a future...

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

From the Hollywood street perspective, over there is the newest set for an Avatar movie. From the in the land of Avatar perspective you are on the world of Pandora. There ya go. Easy. It's all make believe no matter how it's presented. Honestly, I don't really need this, but I recognize it...

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland Resort

With Avatar in Florida the land is a big part of the appeal, so frankly I want the land as much as the ride, and will have to disagree with you on this. I'd also much rather lose the Hollywood Backlot than any part of Tomorrowland for this, especially since it can be easily winked at as a movie...

Glad to see the classic cheeseburger is still an option there. The new items look great.
