Unmagical Day at the Magic Kingdom

Oooh! Go for the James Earl Jones & Malcolm McDowell combo! Like from those old cellphone commercials!

Unmagical Day at the Magic Kingdom

I tried to explain Katiebug to my co-worker. She now thinks I am insane.

I first saw the rant on TripAdvisor.

Unmagical Day at the Magic Kingdom

I think, in honor of this day, I will name my next kitty Sam. Because the cat won't do anything, either.

Maybe we can petition to make it a National Holiday!

Security splitting up families / groups at entrances

Back in 2017 or so my father and I spent some time speculating what on earth the young couple with the stuffed to the gills ginormous backpacks were carrying with them at Disney World. Dad finally suggested tents and sleeping bags so they could save money by camping in the parking lots and we...

Unmagical Day at the Magic Kingdom

Now come on. Just because it's almost Halloween that doesn't mean you get to scare us like this.

Pffft. She can go complain to Sam's successor.

    Disney parks going Vegetarian?

I'd rather they focus on foods that are naturally vegan and vegetarian. Who wouldn't want a snack of vegetarian samosas? Or a nice fruit salad for dessert? Or Middle Eastern fried cauliflower? Vinegar coleslaw.

Phones and Live Streaming on Rides

The only time I appreciated a cellphone being used in a Park was in the Pirates fast pass queue where a couple of light bulbs were burned out. The couple ahead of us got out their cellphones and lit the queue. When they saw my elderly father and his cane they slowed down so we could use their light.

Unmagical Day at the Magic Kingdom

Happy anniversary to Sam! Whom I secretly suspect is actually a housecat. And to Katiebug! Probably still waiting for Sam to do something.

And in other "people are stupid" news...

And in fact in some places you never should. GPS is notoriously unreliable in Northern Arizona. Have paper maps.

Disney forcing us to $pend even more at their re$ort$

That $404 a night is out of reach for many, many people. Sure it's cheaper than the $700 rate, but it isn't affordable to the masses either.

Disney forcing us to $pend even more at their re$ort$

As someone who works in the hotel industry - though not Disney - we're in a pandemic. Housekeeping is limited. People are also deciding to go for better paying jobs. It's not uncommon for hotels - especially if they are small or independently owned - to have 2 night minimums, especially on...

6,500 Miles With the Crazies - A National Parks Road Trip Extravaganza

We were at Carlsbad in the early 80s maybe and at that time at least you simply walked in. No tours (except the separate cave New Cave which is now Slaughter Canyon Cave) - but I remember them at Wind Cave, Jewel Cave and Mammoth Cave. Also Kartchner Caverns here.

WDW As The Only Vacation Option: Why?

LA is about an hour flight from here, so 2 or 3 days at Disneyland was a nice mini vacation. We went once a year or so pre-Covid. Disney World has really only been the last ten years or so as my father has liked the all-inclusive feel of the Disney Bubble as he has gotten older. But at the...
