2023 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival

We won't be able to get to Orlando since vacation time is with DCL for Thanksgiving, but Raul Acosta y Oro Solido are a solid merengue act.

News Disney Dining Plan Returns in 2024

I wouldn’t necessarily judge people for returning to purchasing DDP for their trips, but I would suggest trying what we did during the period when it wasn’t available. We did a trip late 2020 where we “prepaid” our meals based on the cost of the most recent dining plan for each guest. We used...

Not if it’s “the will of the people.” 😉 Special session 2023 confirmed.

News Disney Dining Plan Returns in 2024

Some plans are bought by cruise/AI customers who just don’t want the headache of a food bill on vacation. We knew full well we weren’t maximizing our for dollar, but it was close enough to shrug it off for convenience’s sake. However, after visiting twice without the dining plan since the...

News Disney Dining Plan Returns in 2024

All of these changes added up piqued my interest, but my cynical side immediately went to how much the unprecedented demand must have waned in future bookings.

News Disney Dining Plan Returns in 2024

Especially the last part. Offer an alcohol discount if you’re on DDP and forego your soft drink. Or offer two tiers of “adult” packages. But it really rubbed me the wrong way when they included alcohol but didn’t parse out the under-21’s.

Disney did appreciate it. They used the parks being open in FL as a way to try and lean on CA to allow DL to open, and to some extent the CDC with cruises. That doesn’t mean they can’t disagree with other actions the state has taken. I love my parents for the stable home and loving upbringing...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

I’m sure that’s one area the new district could get into the minutiae of hindering operations pretty easily. Permitting road closures and emergency right of way is no small undertaking for large race events. Though the WDW runs have long histories and are probably formality in route plan...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

I also wonder if he's shocked that Disney, or the former RCID board, hasn't taken direct legal action against the state. He continues to throw chum in the water hoping for a bite, and they (TWDC) isn't taking the bait. I'd love to see someone with Disney's might stand up to this action, and as...

No, it was more a thought of what TWDC legal team may seek to discover in preparation to defend any charges if they actually arise. Or as a 1A plaintiff if it ever came to that. I believe Disney has shown they’d rather it not come to that. But Iger did snarl his teeth a little today.

Those are the emails/communications I’m interested in seeing in a discovery phase. What exactly Ron and their cronies thought the powers of the district are/were and how to exploit them to “bend the knee” of Disney.

News Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closing for refurbishment in February 2023

That would be a fun way to get some Danny Elfman music in the parks. Or they could do a permanent Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, where Jack and Sally run from Oogie.

News Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closing for refurbishment in February 2023

Do you get Adam Lambert or deepfake Freddie? I’d personally enjoy a spin around the track to Innuendo or The Show Must Go On. I don’t buy it, though, so it’s probably moot. I said it in the other thread, but the Foo Fighters have a pretty solid catalog, are immensely popular and...

    RnRc Retheme?

I don’t buy Queen for a second, but would they use Adam Lambert or deepfake Freddie? John Deacon has also been away from the band as a performer for ages. Assuming there is an eventual refresh/retheme, and that the rock n’ roll theme continues, there are far more contemporary and relevant...

    Disney Wish

Spidey is affected by Pim Particles, but his suit isn’t? Or this is Peter’s first attempt at a suit before investing in Spandex or meeting Tony Stark? Or the original CM was out sick and the person filling in isn’t filling that suit out. Good idea poorly executed.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

An exploration into price gouging or profit margins is nothing new, and both sides of the US aisle were vociferous when gas prices were crazy high a few months back. Similar vocality when the War on Terror sent gas/oil higher twenty years ago. That’s a private company voicing its opinion. Not...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Not to mention liquor license meddling, which has already been done against at least one other “enemy” entity. How much control does the governor have over port operations? If none now, why not reestablish a board and meddle in DCL docking agreements, too? The reason WDW became what it did...
