Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

Looking at Spirit's own website, I see that the armrests for certain rows (usually 1-3) are nonmoveable, so that may be what you experienced if you happened to sit in one of those rows.

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

The issue is with what you've had, not with British food itself. That's fair: if you're looking for lots of spiciness, for example, British food is not going to offer it. But the overall flavour profile of British food has so many overlaps with American (our Christmas dinner is basically next...

Nothing wrong with British food! Some of the classics are absolutely delicious.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2025

It felt more crowded to me than last year’s party, especially when viewing the parade and show.

You said you find it tolerable, which hardly suggests enjoyment. I took you at your word, but based on your clarification, I can only assume that a lot of the displeasure you express here is hyperbolic.

That doesn’t make sense to me. Why would you repeatedly spend money going somewhere you didn’t enjoy? That should be a very easy habit to break.

Sonny Eclipse during the party season

Just reporting back on what my partner and I experienced during our recent trip. On the two occasions we attempted to see him, Sonny Eclipse was not out on non-party days, and the CMs gave no indication he would be. I’m guessing this means he won’t reappear until after the party season is over.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2025

I was responding to your claim that it all seems “completely arbitrary”, which doesn’t seem to be what you’re saying in your latest post.

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

Two hours (not less than—we were there until closing) after a tiring journey was all we needed, plus it was a free perk, so why would we complain? And it’s not settling; it’s benefitting from something we were in a position to take up. There’ll be other trips when, either because of arrival time...

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2025

I can’t say I track the sales that closely. I’m sure there are multiple factors at play to explain any significant shifts you may have spotted from year to year. Unless people are reporting wildly different crowd levels on various sold-out nights, I have no reason to believe that anything...

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

This is an exaggeration. We landed around 2 pm recently. By 4 pm, we were in Typhoon Lagoon and got to enjoy two hours there. Sure, many won’t be able to benefit from it, but it’s a nice perk if the timing works out.

    Not to this guest. 🤷‍♂️

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

But why spend money on a trip you find tedious and merely tolerable? Wouldn’t it be better to opt instead for something you find overwhelmingly enjoyable?

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2025

Is there any evidence for this? I went to a lower-priced night recently and it was pretty busy (I believe it had sold out).

I believe they meant they’re a first-time attendee of the party.

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

My point is that the avoidance, deintensification, or scrapping of things deemed overly scary is not new at Disney. There are many examples spanning the decades.

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

I'd be happy with a mixture. Many of the villains themselves are equal parts scary and camp, so a good injection of humour wouldn't be a bad thing in my opinion.

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

The deintensification of the Snow White rides goes back to the '80s and was in direct response to parents' complaints. It's not the result of some newfangled sensitivity.

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

I didn’t say it would be inappropriate; I said it would be tonally off. But that was based on my understanding of what you meant by the term, which may not actually reflect your intention. I’ve only seen the first two, and I don’t recall them well enough to know why they would have been given...

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

I didn’t mention nudity or profanity, so I’m not sure why implying that I had some wildly exaggerated notion of what constitutes PG-13. I took you to be saying that you would like the land to have the sort of tone one associates with elements of Universal—something that would appeal most...
