I would die of happy. But also be scared mom was hiding around the corner. 😂

    Alligators

There’s only been about 30 fatalities caused by alligators in Florida in the last 75 years. It’s more dangerous to walk past someone’s pet dog on a trail. As long as you aren’t on the edge of the water, they aren’t generally in the mood to pull you in. Humans are way too big for them to consider...

    Alligators

I’m a little late to this thread but couldn’t resist. Finding and photographing alligators around the Orlando area is one of my top hobbies. I only care about the ones in the wild and have little interest in captive alligators. I’ve been to both of the places @mkt mentioned and can confirm...

Unmagical Day at the Magic Kingdom

Her *now 24* year old princess and firstborn is named Kaitlynn….so I’m just gonna take a stab in the dark here that her daughter Kaitlynn’s childhood nickname was Katie-bug. Probably when baby Kaitlynn was born, miss Jennifer created all kinds of usernames, email addresses, and passwords in...

Has anyone used their old Magic Bands

I never even thought about them having a lifespan. I’ve been using the same one for so many years. No wonder my on ride photos never ever work. 😂

My Magic Kingdom trip report (Sept. 2023), comparisons to Universal, and why the Genie+ is not necessary

Yeah totally if it’s a rare or once in a lifetime trip, investing in Genie makes sense so that you don’t run the risk of missing anything. But I don’t think it’s a worthwhile expenditure for someone who visits annually as I think it is more relaxing and freeing to meander around and do things...

My Magic Kingdom trip report (Sept. 2023), comparisons to Universal, and why the Genie+ is not necessary

My theory (no evidence, just observation) is that Disney guests are a lot more demanding, selfish, and impatient because of how much money they are spending, and they are taking it out on poorly paid CMs. At Universal you can have a much better time for much less money, and the visitors are a...

My Magic Kingdom trip report (Sept. 2023), comparisons to Universal, and why the Genie+ is not necessary

Agree with you on Genie. I’ve been to the parks dozens of times since it premiered and I’ve never used it a single time. And it’s never been an issue at MK, AK, or Epcot to not have it. I just hit up the attractions at the times they aren’t busy, I never wait in any lines, and it’s crazy to me...

    Time Difference Strategies

I wouldn’t fight the jet lag. Use it to your advantage. Sleep in, and eat your meals a few hours later than the crowds. Stay till park closing every night, still full of energy, while all the east coasters who have been up since 7 am are fading early and heading to bed.

    Poof... You are an Animatronic!

You saved me googling an image because the first animatronic that came to my mind was the girl in pigtails from this scene. I’ve always been obsessed with this little room.

What is the best timeframe to do these attractions?

Mine Train gets down to about 30 minutes during fireworks and Peter Pan is almost always a walk on, during fireworks. The posted wait times will be false. Example: many times during fireworks Peter Pan a posted wait of 45-60 minutes, and I have been the only person in the entire queue. If you...

Struggling with anxiety over leaving children and considering cancelling WDW - help?

I consider leaving a baby and a toddler for 8 days to be an extended period. It’s a long enough time that the OP is having anxiety about it. And it would be a a significant amount of time for the 1 and 3 year old who are too little to read a calendar or understand “how much longer” until their...

Struggling with anxiety over leaving children and considering cancelling WDW - help?

I have 2 adult children and 3 small kids. I coped just fine when my older 2 grew up and moved out, and I don’t feel lost without them. My adult children have an amazing relationship with me and with each other, but we can all also go months at a time without seeing each other and it is no big...

Tron Lightcycle Run with an ortho boot

I feel like it would be near impossible to sit in the regular ride vehicle with one. But I don’t see why she can’t sit in the back row with the modified seats.

    Rank The Recent Family Mega-Brawls

On June 29, 2023 from about 11:35-11:45 p.m. there was an absolutely epic brawl in the Magic Kingdom parking lot. I have not seen one mention of this anywhere online and it’s making me crazy! The only reason I didn’t take a video myself is because I assumed a hundred other people must have...

Struggling with anxiety over leaving children and considering cancelling WDW - help?

I’m an extremely attached parent and I couldn’t do it. I’ve not left mine overnight for a single night in 9 years. I cannot think of any trip I would want to take that would be fun enough to override how miserable I would be if I left my kids at home. Even the handful of times we have left...

    Living near WDW?

We just had dinner at Portillos kind of across the way from there the other night when we left Sea World. We’ve eaten at Ford’s Garage in Hamlin once and I didn’t get the hype. But I may just not know the right things to be hyped about. I remember it being a really long wait and very expensive...

    Living near WDW?

Yup. It’s not far from the Clermont turnpike exit at all. Just don’t go at rush hour and it will be smooth sailing.
