DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

Agreed. Guardians is an incredible roller coaster with top-tier technology behind it, just limited by a overburdened story by Imagineering that, as others have noted, is the result of corporate mandates.

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

It's just logical that something as simple as a kiosk does not need a backstory. Just fit the theme of the land.

DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

I would disagree, but then again I think it'd open up a debate over what constitutes a story vs. plot vs. scenario. Interesting way of looking at it from an audience POV, but not from what Imagineering clearly intended, which is where the conversation originated - a trend of needlessly...

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

Did a kiosk need a backstory?

    What’s worse? 1995-2003 or 2017-Current?

Pressler Era was, hands down, way worse.

DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

That's a reductive argument. The flaw with this thinking is that a standard Marvel plot that works for film or television shouldn't be adapted literally for an attraction. Different mediums require different approaches to storytelling. Except this debate isn't centering on the fandom, it's...

DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

This is the issue here. Some of Imagineering's recent efforts have been hampered by overcomplicating the story. Tiana, Guardians, and Rise are examples of this, though with Rise, you can kind of just get the gist of it without all the added details. I say some because it's inconsistent: I'd...

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

That's super interesting if at all true. Wouldn't make sense from a local audience perspective IMO - lacks repeatability for DLRs local base, too intense, on top of all the other known M:S issues, etc., but as usual, appreciate Eisner's creative thinking.

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

Really surprised at Mission: Space. All other attractions that you and lazyboy mentioned make total sense - even Alien Encounter. But Mission: Space? Which park would the clone(s) even have gone to?

Agreed. Nostalgia isn't an effective aesthetic to a mass audience.

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Interesting point. I'm surprised an Art Deco hotel hasn't been in the mix in the past - or has it? Maybe an insider would know.

Disneyland 70th Anniversary Thread - Wishlist, Rumors, Speculation, Announcements

Exactly - this is a mid-tier celebration. Eager to hear I2I in the new World of Color as that's one of my favorite songs, period. That said, I wish they brought back the 24-hour parties for celebration kick-offs. Were they that much of an operational headache?

DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

    I think that's a disingenuous argument, lol.

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Don't most of the resorts have relatively uncreative names? Poly, Boardwalk, Contemporary, Riviera, Wilderness - they're all pretty straightforward. Only a few achieve more - Grand Floridian, Pop Century, All Stars (funny enough) are a bit more creative.

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

We don't need anything more specific, at least not now. Disney needs to get out of the habit of releasing details far too soon. I say take a page from Universal and let the construction actually begin before we hear more. That way, hopefully, we'd hear more concrete details on the land instead...

Rumor Frontierland Shootin' arcade to close and replaced with DVC Member lounge

Looks perfectly pleasant. I'm more thrilled at the fact that there's no overt IP tie in!

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

I understand the spend on content, but I also think the $36B represents the bloated budgets Disney issues on each of their titles - Indiana Jones as a particularly noteworthy example. To your point, Shogun helped to deliver on the FX brand during a period it desperately needed a prestige win...
