Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

DIS reported a negative cash flow of 170M for the most recent 6 months ending. They've been running cash flow negative for the last good bit. Yes, this is due to capital investments in Parks and DIS+, but I don't see how they can afford to cut those investments significantly. The parks are...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

Sorry, I was using G+ to represent the rides that are included with the $15 bucks -- LL costing the extra out of pocket.

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

How? Is this G+ rides plus LL? I understand that you can book one and then if you wait two hours, you can stack on another.

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

Yeah, it's completely manageable by either rope dropping or staying until close. One trip we had the most success staying late (although we normally rope drop). The most recent trip we splurged for AKL and took advantage of the evening extra magic hours and were able to walk onto pretty much...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

Right there with you. I could rant about my Genie+ experience all day. It just wasn't worth paying for, period. I perceived close to zero value -- unless you count getting to walk onto Pirates when the stand by was only 20 minutes, then yeah, some value exists.

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

Tried Genie+, it was awful and not worth the money. Been back twice since and did not purchase it either trip. If they brought back FastPass+ and charged me Genie+ prices, I'd probably buy it. It was simple: I get to pick 3 guaranteed rides for the day. None of this crap of sitting on my phone...

    Disney’s Q2 FY22 Earnings Results Webcast

I agree, they can't grow without new, expensive content. My concern is that growth does not equal free cash flow / profitability. Growth is at the cost of very large capital expenditures. At a certain point, you need to be able to cut back on content spending to make the platform actually...

    Disney’s Q2 FY22 Earnings Results Webcast

Can't believe I actually agree with the analyst on CNBC. He basically he said he was worried about the path to profitability with DIS+ and chasing Netflix and HBO Max. Mentioned it would be smarter to keep classic content and play to the 'super fans.' I've always thought they should play to...

    Disney’s Q2 FY22 Earnings Results Webcast

The Parks, Experiences and Products segment reported $6.8B profit in 2019. They aren't selling that cash cow. Not to mention the IP synergy that exists between the parks and the media segment. They'll use Parks & Experiences to fund the DIS+ catalog (burn money). I just spent the last hour...

    Disney’s Q2 FY22 Earnings Results Webcast

They're running negative cash from operations right now, much less traditional FCF (cash from ops less capital expenditures). I'm worried DIS is going to go down the road of burning cash with D+ in an effort to grow / maintain subscribers. Netflix is technically profitable but has never been...

    Disney’s Q2 FY22 Earnings Results Webcast

Looking at FCF projections and intrinsic value (using assumptions I feel comfortable with), I like it closer to $95/share. You're probably right though regarding earnings risk. I hate buying before earnings though, always feels like a gamble.

Rumor Hollywood insiders say there's growing tension at Disney as CEO Bob Chapek chafes at Bob Iger's 'long goodbye'

Completely off-topic, but is this recent? We're going down next week and wanted to change one day from MK to Epcot but got the message everything was booked. I checked with both our hotel reservation and our AP.
