News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

That's due to the monthly AP program. The park is no longer attempting to reach a value of $200 a day; instead they aim to be good enough for folks paying $20-$80 a visit or $50-$130 a month. They devalued the parks and as long as the majority of guests are getting the devalued price, they don't...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Its also because the featured characters from Splash were dynamic. We saw them happy, sad, gleeful, scared, in pain, etc. With Tiana, we see them happily playing an instrument to later see them playing the same instrument with the same exact expression. That communicates to me, as an...

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

Yeah, I was amazed by some of the scruffy-faced CM's with shirts untucked looking like they just rolled out of bed in their uniform. Standards have fallen. Too bad prices haven't.

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

Considering the old space had benches, I could enjoy the old space more as there was a quiet place to sit and enjoy the park. I knew teachers who would grade papers in Magnolia park. Now, it is open and looks pretty, but even if the park were as serene as it used to be, there's literally no...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Its almost as if VQ's are confusing. "Can I ride the ride that is open?" "You need to get in the virtual queue." "Oh, that's okay, I'll just join that physical queue." "Oh, that physical queue is for the virtual queue." "Wait? So, I need to wait in that physical queue to get a virtual...

Is It Bad That I’m The Only Person That Loves Fantasyland Theatre?

The early days of a process that's been happening for a decade? We know that modern Disney is out to maximize profits by cutting what is included in general admission a reducing operational costs by cutting staff and practical effects that require upkeep. If 10 years ago you were to tell...

Is It Bad That I’m The Only Person That Loves Fantasyland Theatre?

This trend of cutting entertainment has been happening for quite awhile. While they may have something back for the 70th, the clear trend is that entertainment is being removed from the parks. D20 had "live" interactions with screen characters. Disney is trying to eventually have screens and...

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

The second act is fantastic. But man, those caves are not up to what Disney creates. I've heard many folks react every time we turn and find ourselves in yet another boxy and barren cave room. Indy takes a similar idea and creates spaces that each feel unique and play upon the idea of mystery...

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

Visiting the parks yesterday, what I think is the issue is not the era of the characters, but the approach of the theme park land. There's zero excitement in the Rise queue until you get to the Rey transmission. Other than that, it feels very bland. Not only is the cave design really bad...

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

I just want Pooh replaced with an Ichabod dark ride. The area back there has always reminded me of Sleepy Hollow. Less with the Bayou aspect thrown in, but that hasn't affected that portion of the land as its primarily just the facade of Splash and the gift shops which were bayou-fied.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I wouldn't classify 1 or 6 as drops at all. That's like saying Disneyland's pirates has three drops because we slide into the trough after the final lift.

Yeah, both DLR and WDW have a small dip after the LP drop and before getting into the horseshoe of the LP.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I've ridden both Splashes and just watched a ride through....not seeing a drop after the loading area or one entering the outdoor area, unless you consider coming off the lift hill a drop, which Disneyland has as well. Lift into bayou where old Brer Frog was. Lift into the mill. Slipping...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Yeah, this guy is a joke. While I agree Disneyland's is better, claiming that all the new ride has in common with the old is being a log flume is wholly disingenuous. Each drop, delineation of show scenes, and overall structure is the same. Also. does Orlando have additional drops? I thought...

I don't think it needs to be dilapidated, but it should have character and look lived in. I trust that they aren't fully done yet (I hope) and we'll see some detail work that takes it from California Condo to a unique building that inspires wonder and curiosity.

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

Two different realities. I suppose both could be correct. I was with MiceChat from the early 2000's and watched its heyday and downfall and I saw the tone shift from constructive criticism to stans shutting down any criticism and reporting users who were critical or had differing opinions...

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

I'll respectfully say that I'd rather read critical dissections of attractions and details than "it's fine and the general public thinks it's good enough, so our opinions don't matter." There's a reason I watch Poseidon Entertainment and other YouTubers while avoiding the bland and saccharine...

Why does anyone like to go to Magic Mountain?

But even still, we've been seeing the cutbacks at Knott's Entertainment for the past decade or so with Scary Farm. The event used to have about half a dozen live shows from Hacks Improv to a full show in the birdcage, full show in the Ghoul Time Theatre, Blood Drums, The Hanging, Chipper Lowel...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

A cute idea, but not a real reason. If there was a consistent danger of kids actively trying to exit the vehicle, the lawyers at Disney would have demanded a bigger change than hoping a change in the vibes would cut down on the chances of killing/dismembering children at the parks.
